Business personal statement example 1
"I am a highly motivated and independent individual with a great work ethic and attitude. Flexible
with strong team-working skills, I am able to work individually or as part of a group, and have
excellent organisational skills gained through all-round administrative work experience. I am now
looking to enrol on a Business Degree course to increase my academic development and career
progression.
I am interested in studying business in higher education for a number of reasons, the foremost
one being that it will link directly into my future career ambitions by providing me with grounding
for a range of possible specialist careers in Management, Marketing and Accounting etc. A good
business degree qualification will give me the academic knowledge and the commercial and
management skills I need to become a graduate whom employers actively seek out. It will offer
me a route into general management as well as specialist areas such as market research,
administration, banking and finance/economics, human resources and operations management.

This subject will give me a clear framework for making decisions in the real world of work, and
leave me well equipped with the required knowledge and skills in areas of domestic and
international economic analysis. It will also help me to develop a critical appreciation of
alternative theories concerning the working of both the micro-economy and the macro-economy.
Another plus for this subject is that I will experience a mixture of subjects from each discipline,
which means I will always be developing and enhancing my skills in a wide range of disciplines.
My strongest personal qualities are first of all an intense desire to be successful in anything I try, I
am willing to go that extra mile and put in a bit more effort to make sure I achieve my aims.
Secondly I am also a very positive person who has a glass is half full mentality to life, business
and everything, I tend not to be knocked back by disappointments and regrets and look forward
not backwards. Finally I consider myself to be a very persistent person who understands that
nothing is every straightforward and that you have to be patient to get where you want to be.
At college I took Business Studies at A level and am happy to say that I was mentored by
inspirational and visionary individuals who were fully focused on my learning. They were able to
foster my natural talent and passion, by providing me with a vast range of interesting and
challenging assignments that were tailored to reflect my interests. It was this great experience
more than anything that really got me seriously interested in the world of Business. I would also
like to mention that at college I was instructed extensively in computer usage, leaving me fully
confident in the use of a range of business software.
I am presently working as an Office Assistant for a small manufacturing company. My
responsibility is to ensure the smooth daily running of the office, thereby enabling other staff to do
their jobs effectively. I handle all business correspondence, including the post and phone calls. I
am also in charge of writing up communiqus, scanning and faxing documents, and general
administrative duties. Working under the guidance of the Office Manager I have gained a practical
experience of a real business operation that cannot be replicated in the lecture room.
I would like to study at your university primarily because of its wide range of courses, the location
of the campus, its excellent modern facilities and its world class reputation. I was greatly
impressed on a recent visit to your institution where in conversations with your lecturers I found
their responsiveness incredible. What I also like about your programme is the freedom given to
students to select subjects they are interested in. I came away from a visit to your campus with a
feeling that it has a really friendly international learning environment that fully prepares its
students for the national and international stage."
