Job Description

Job Descriptions:
Government Relations (GR) is a team of government relations professionals
reporting to the EVP Global Government Relations, who in turn reports to the Chief
Executive Officer.
GRs mission is to support Shells business success, creating and delivering
optimal business value and distinguishing Shell from competitors in the view of
governments. GR delivers this by understanding and influencing government
needs and policies and by ensuring that the companys geographical perspective
is balanced against business and functional strategies in line with the overall
objectives of the Group.
Support the Country Chair/businesses/functions on Government Relations efforts
in representing Shell's interests to the Government and regulators that have an
interest in, and potential impact on, Shell's domestic and international businesses
on the short and long-term business environment as Government and other
external stakeholders affect it.
Accountabilities:
The Advisor is expected to develop understanding of regional/country and local
business, geopolitical trends and key decision makers/influencers, as well as an
understanding of the key drivers for Shell Group success.

Supports the management of issues that are impacted by Government.

Provides advice to the businesses on Government Relations strategy, including
representation on issues.
Advises and represents the interests of the businesses with Government officials.
Supports representation by Shell on a number of external groups as required.
Business Delivery
Advise and brief regional /country business VPs on issues and opportunities
related to external stakeholder engagement to maximize value;
Provide Shell representation when critical stakeholders visit the countries or are
visiting key countries for Shell GR interests;
Ensure appropriate alignment (and coordinate the involvement) of colleagues
from various parts of Shell (Businesses and Functions) in the management of
regional/country level issues and cross-border business opportunities.
Leveraging Relationships
Develop independent access country information and insights for use by
businesses;
Cultivate relationships with relevant external stakeholders especially with senior
ambassadors and business councils of the countries;
Leverage external perspectives and form own perspectives on country issues for
their impact on the Group;
Represent Shell, as appropriate, in key events and initiatives.
Requirements

Job Requirements:
Confident and trusted individual with a minimum of 8-10 years experience
in Retail Marketing and sound understanding of the business drivers,
threats and challenges.
Has an external relations experience and established relationships with
regulators and government agencies are an advantage
A good communicator in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
Has issues and crisis management experience and able to manage
complexity
Capacity to multi-task and deliver against short timelines with an ability to
drive delivery through others
Possesses strong business integrity
