Description of
information
gathered
The charity Child-Line
says it counselled more
than 2,000 under-19s
in the last year who
needed help dealing
with abuse from a
current or former
partner.
It's the first time the
charity has released
figures since the
definition of domestic
abuse was widened to
include 16 and 17year-olds.
Personal experience
from a victim of
domestic abuse. Police
were noticed several
times but they done
nothing about the
violence.

This is the official

website for the
information and
adverts about the
relationship abuse.

Why is the
information
useful?
The information was
useful because it
justifies my research
about
teenagers/young
adults being abused
in a relationship.

The information was

useful because it tells
the readers a victims
personal experience
meaning that this has
had actually
happened and it is a
real issue in the
society.
The reason why this
information is
important is because
it really gives the
victims information
on how to deal with
the abuse.
The way that this
informations is
useful is because it
had the explanations
of the adverts and
also the link to the
website that contains
them.
The way that this
information is useful
is because it has all

These two cases are

not isolated examples
of how the media
paints false pictures of
intimate partner
homicides. According
to several studies of
domestic homicide
news coverage that
were conducted by
domestic violence
experts, skewed or
incomplete analysis
are more the rule than
the exception.
According to the
Washington Coalition
Against Domestic
Violence, only 22
percent of the 230
newspaper articles
about domestic
homicide that they

people who are being

abused or for
someone who knows
someone who is
being abused. It has
all of the campaigns
and adverts.
This is the website
that gives all the
statements that
helps to identify
abusive relationship
in your or in the
situation of someone
that you know.

This information is
useful because it
shows how common
these incidents are
nowadays. It talks
about real peoples
experiences with
domestic abuse while
a teenager and how
to deal with it.
Even though this
article is about
domestic violence
between adults, the
homicide that is
happening in those
families is usually
covered up by the
media. This really
shows how the
society doesnt want
to understand that
domestic violence is
a serious issue in the
society.

analysed specifically
cited these as
domestic violencerelated incidents. A
higher proportion of
these stories, (48
percent), cited the

Katie, Laura, Carrie and
Shaina were just
teenage girls in love.
They are among many
young women who are
verbally, physically and
sexually abused by
their boyfriends.
According to the Justice
Department, 16- to 24year-old women are
the victims of
relationship abuse
more than any other
age group.
More than one third of
teen guys and girls say
they have been
physically, emotionally
or sexually abused in
dating relationships, a
new survey says.
