In this lesson, I learned the different skills of scientists. I

learned skills like measuring, observing, predicting and many more.
I also learned how each skill is done.

HOW I SEE IT IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS?

In the next 10 years, I can use these skills in doing my work and
even at home. Like explaining, if I need to report or discuss
something in a meeting in the office, I can use my skill of
explaining to the things that I need to discuss that I learned from
my classes in my High-School classes.

activities and activities by man. I also learned how each activity
affects our organisms and our environment. I also learned about the
different ways in lessening the pollution.

HOW I SEE IT IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS?

In the next 10 years, as a citizen if the Philippines, I can help

mother earth or mother nature to be pollution free and clean by
applying what I have learned in my High-School Science classes on
how to lessen pollution. I can also encourage my friends and my
family to help me in helping Mother Nature.

KEY ANSWER: [POSSIBLE ANSWERS]

First law states that every object will remain at rest

in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of
an external force. An object falling through the atmosphere is a good
example of this principle. The velocity of the object is zero, the object
is at rest. There is no net force on the object, and the object would
remain at rest indefinitely.

The second law explains how the velocity of an object

changes when it is subjected to an external force. The motion of an
aircraft resulting from aerodynamic forces and the aircraft weight and
thrust can be computed by using the second law of motion.
The third law states that for every action in
nature there is an equal and opposite reaction. For a spinning ball, the
air is deflected to one side, and the ball reacts by moving in the
opposite direction. A jet engine also produces thrust through action and
reaction. The engine produces hot exhaust gases which flow out the back of
the engine. In reaction, a thrusting force is produced in the opposite
direction.

MY LEARNING:

In this lesson, I learned the different laws of motion like

Inertia, Acceleration & Action and Opposite action. In the first
law, it is the tendency of any object to oppose while in the second
law it states that unbalanced force acting on object causes
acceleration and on the third law it states that for every action
there is an equal and opposite direction. I also learned that
because of Inertia our body tends to keep moving.

HOW I SEE IT IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS?

In the next 10 years, if my occupation is going to be teacher, I

will discuss to them what I have learned in my High-School Science
class. I will discuss or explain them the different laws of motion.

Instructions: Answer the questions about Absolute ages of rocks. Choose answers on
the box.

_________1. A scientist who studies the solid and liquid matter that
constitutes the Earth and terrestrial planets.

_________2. Determining the age of rocks using the radioactive

decay of atoms in them.

_________3. An absolute dating method that uses the rate of decay

of radioactive isotopes in rocks.
_________4. The decay of an atom of one element to form another
element, occurring when an alpha particle or beat particle is
expelled from the original atom.

_________5. Atoms of the same element that have the same number of
protons in their nuclei, but different numbers of neutrons.

_________6. One of the two particle that make up the nucleus of an

atom; it has a negative charge

_________7.one of two particles that makes up the nucleus of an

atom; it has a positive charge.

KEY ANSWER:

1.Geologist

2.Absolute dating

3. Radiometric dating

4.Radioactive decay

5.Isotopes

6.Neutron

7.Proton

MY LEARNINGS:
In this lesson, I learned that scientists use the method absolute
dating to determine the age of rocks. I also learned about
radioactive decay and radiometric dating.

HOW I SEE IT IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS?

In the next 10 years, if I am studying about rocks or if I am

working as a geologist, I already have an idea on how they know the
ages of the different rocks. Like the methods, absolute dating and
radiometric dating which I have learned in my High School Science
classes and also maybe in my college classes.
