It is our endeavour to educate you on the rationale behind the Rules so as to empower you with appropriate Business Ethics
and Practices. This, in turn, will help you to personally evolve as a successful Amway Business Owner and a strong leader, in
the long run. It is our constant effort to impart knowledge of the Rules so you could conduct your Amway business in the right
manner. Our Plain Speak column is a stepping stone, in this direction. Some important Rules that will help you to
understand about this significant Rule are:

Section 6.8
An individual can become an Amway Business Owner only under a single Distributorship. No ABO is allowed, under the Rules
to own or have an ownership interest in more than one Distributorship.* As an ABO, you need to channalise your energy and
efforts in constantly working towards building your business group with single-minded devotion. Any distraction , by way of an
ownership interest in an alternate Distributorship, would be adverse to your business interests. We receive many cases where
ABOs have taken a second Distributorship for various reasons like ignorance, lack of support from sponsors, acquaintances
in the new group etc. However this is not permissible under the Rules. Any ABO who wishes to change their Line of
Sponsorship must write to Amway India with the request. Changes in Line of Sponsorship are not encouraged, as preserving
the original Lines of Sponsorship is essentially the most important component of the Sales & Marketing Plan. Any transfer,
therefore, would involve many no objections from various uplines.
ABOs who are not able to secure a no objection or release from
their uplines must resign their business and undergo
appropriate inactivity period (6 months or 2 years) before
applying for a new Distributorship. An ABO who resigns the
present business with a view to re-join after the period of
inactivity cannot : Purchase, sell Amway products; Present the
Sales and Marketing Plan; Attend any System or Amway
meetings or be a part of another Distributorship in name of
family members, in the interim period.

Section 3.17
In cases where both Husband and Wife wish to join as ABOs,
they should be sponsored together, as an Applicant and
co-applicant, in a single Distributorship. Amway will recognise
both spouses as partners of the Distributorship irrespective of
whether both the names are registered on the Distributorship Partners in life, Partners in Amway.

Section 3.16
As a confirmation to the single Distributorship rule, all
invitations to various events organised by Amway are extended
only to two individuals per Amway business. ABOs, who register
their Amway businesses as a Sole proprietary concern,
Partnership firm, Limited Liability Company or Trust need to
identify the two individuals who would be eligible for receiving
such invitations. This is required to be done at the time of
submitting the Application form for the Partnership,
Corporation, Trust or Limited Liability Company.
* There are certain exceptions to this Rule, details of which are
available in the Rules of Conduct.

AOF gave me a
chance to pursue
my dream

I was born blind by birth in a nondescript village

namely Sualkuchi in Assam. But I did not let my
visual handicap come in the way of my study. As a
student of Guwahati Blind High School, I studied
with the help of Braille system up to class five and
I pursued my higher education through audio
system as there was a dearth of Braille Books in
Assam.
I came out with flying colours with 75% marks in
High School. Thereafter, I secured BA degree in
History Hons from Cotton College.
My tryst with computer education took place at the
IIT Guwahati where I received computer education
through the software called Chaksu developed by
IIT especially for the visually challenged. After that
I decided to pursue my career as a computer
teacher for visually challenged students in Assam
with an aim to help my brethren.
The turning point in my life was a call from Amway
Opportunity Foundation in 2011 for an interview for
the position of Computer Instructor at Guwahati
Blind School Computer Centre supported by
Amway Opportunity Foundation. It was a great
experience securing the said position after competing with normal sighted candidates.
At present I am working as Assistant Teacher at
Beliram LPS, Govt School for normal sighted
students.
I am also the proud recipient of The AOF Young
Achievers award which has kept my morale high.

during uttarkashi flood

Amway Opportunity Foundation formally handed over shelters

to 36 families affected during the 2013 Uttarkashi floods. The
program was jointly inaugurated by Mr. Hari Giri, Dy. Collector,
Uttarkashi District and Mr. G.S. Cheema, Regional Manager North, Amway India, in the presence of ABO leaders.
The flash floods triggered by very heavy rainfall and cloudburst
in Uttarakhand left a trail of devastation. The deluge led to loss
of thousands of life, washed away roads, bridges and other
infrastructure.
Along with grass root level NGO (JADDI), Amway Opportunity
Foundation decided to rehabilitate disaster affected families of
Bhatwari Block and Dunda Block in the Uttarkashi district by
building 36 houses. Amway Opportunity Foundation committed a sum of Rs. 50 lakhs towards building mid-term shelters
for the affected families. All the 36 houses have been handed
over to the recipients who belong to economically disadvantaged section of the society.
JADDI utilized local manpower and resources to construct
these houses, which also provided livelihood opportunities to
native residents. The houses built under the project are earthquake resistant, portable in nature and can comfortably
accommodate upto 10 people. Each house consists of one big
room, a kitchen and a toilet.

Amway Opportunity Foundation unveiled a Recreation Centre for the children of Palli Unnayan Seva
Samiti (PUSS) at Naharkanta Village in Odisha.
The objective of setting up the Centre is to facilitate
holistic development of the girl children of PUSS. All
248 girl children of PUSS would now be able to enjoy
stimulating activities at the recreation centre equipped
with indoor games like table tennis, carom, chess and
musical instruments. Dedicated teachers would also
conduct regular classes on varied subjects like selfdefence techniques, yoga and meditation.

Under Project Sunrise, Amway Opportunity Foundation,
across India, has joined hands with needy NGOs working for children, and supporting them in education and
healthcare.

Amway Opportunity Foundation set up a computer training centre for the underprivileged children in Salem. The
training centre was set up in the premises of Nesackkarangal, an NGO working for the welfare of children in
need.
The center is fully equipped with 10 computers, a UPS
and a printer. Besides children under the patronage of
Nesckkarangal, the center will be open to all the children
who are from economically backward section of the society. All the children will be allowed to use the facilities of
the center without any fee.
The center was jointly inaugurated by Mr. M. Natesan,
Deputy Mayor of Salem & Mr. Rajendran, Asst. DCP
Law & Order, Salem, in the presence of Mr. P. Jayapalan,
Dist. Forest Officer, Salem Division and Amway Opportunity Foundation team members.

needs in raipur

Amway Opportunity Foundation launched an Occupational Therapy Centre for children with special needs
at Aakanksha, AOF partner NGO in Raipur. The
Centre is equipped with assistive tools like Vestibular
swings, Hand tapper test boards, Hand Dynamometer, Sanding Unit Verical etc to be used in the treatment process. An occupational therapist would be
stationed at the center for the assessment, evaluation
and consultation of the needy children/ adults.

The Occupational Therapy Centre will support

children who have difficulty in performing day to day
activities. It will facilitate them by improving their basic
motor functions, cognitive and emotional abilities. In
addition, the center will also support old older people
who suffer from paralytic strokes, premature infants
and preschool children for their early intervention
program.

people to read and write.
