CostEstimation(QuantityTakeoff)
Description:
AprocessinwhichBIMcanbeusedtoassistinthegenerationofaccuratequantitytakeoffsandcost
estimatesthroughoutthelifecycleofaproject.Thisprocessallowstheprojectteamtoseethecost
effectsoftheirchanges,duringallphasesoftheproject,whichcanhelpcurbexcessivebudget
overrunsduetoprojectmodifications.Specifically,BIMcanprovidecosteffectsofadditionsand
modifications,withpotentialtosavetimeandmoneyandismostbeneficialintheearlydesignstages
ofaproject.

Quicklygeneratequantitiestoassistinthedecisionmakingprocess
Generatemorecostestimatesatafasterrate
Bettervisualrepresentationofprojectandconstructionelementsthatmustbeestimated
