Abstract
This paper explains which aerospace career I would be most interested in. I based my
decision on my current state of knowledge and also what was relative to my future career. I

gained from my current classes. I also delve into the career and explain what is required to obtain
that status and what is expected from me.

Career Summary Essay

The job in the space field of my choice would be Computer Science. I am currently in a
Computer Science AP class and also participate in Computer Science UIL. I enjoy the problem
solving aspect of Computer Science and was ecstatic when I saw the position on the list. As
stated by the Occupational Outlook Handbook, it defines that Computer Scientist are the
designers, creators, and inventors of new technology. By creating new technology, or finding
alternative uses for existing resources, they solve complex business, scientific, and general
computing problems. I would need a Ph.D. to be placed in this position but to achieve my Ph.D.
I would need a bachelors degree with a strong computer science or computer engineering
component. I would need to major in computer science, computer engineering, software
engineering, information systems, or information technology. With reaching my goal towards a
major in one of the previous majors, I would work up to achieve my goal of a Computer Science
Ph.D. and soon apply to working at an aerospace project. The schools of my choice would either
be Massachusetts Institute of Technology, since it has the reputation of being the lead school in
technology, or University of Texas in Austin, since they have an excellent Computer Science
division and are relatively close to my home. My job responsibilities would include working in a
Computer Science team that would program applications for the use in the space shuttles, crew
workers, or various engineers to ease the burden of the copious amounts of information they
would need to process in order to maintain a successful launch of an aircraft. I would enjoy to
work on special calculators that could ease the burden off of Physicists that cold help them figure
out various pieces of information to make the crew or a robot being launched land and return
safely without consuming mass amounts of time.
