Technical Skills
Teaching and Educating
Teaching is a passion that I have pursued as an undergraduate. I have already had
opportunities to teach classes as a Teaching Assistant at BYU-Idaho, as well as one-onone teaching as a tutor. I am fully FERPA certified.
I have an intense desire to become a professor whose research and teaching influences
the lives of students. The knowledge and wisdom that my teachers, professors, and
coaches have shared have positively impacted my life and shaped me into the man I
am today.
I am intellectually curious. In addition to attending school full-time, I have pursued
further education by taking courses online through Coursera and Poynter MOOCs.
Writing
Aside from producing over 75 stories for the BYU-Idaho faculty, I have had
opportunities to write feature articles for BleacherReport.com, FanSided.com, Deseret
Digital Media, and the Ensign.
I am proficient in multiple writing styles, including: Journalism, Creative Writing,
Research Writing, Literary Analyses, Press Releases, and Newsletters.
Editing
I am familiar writing and editing papers in the following style guides: AP Style, APA,
MLA, and Chicago. I also created the Official Perspective Magazine Style Guide, which is
still being used.
I have worked as a copy editor for different publications: Perspective Magazine
(custom), the Madison High School Student Handbook (MLA), and R&CW Website (AP).
Interpersonal Communication
I possess superior interpersonal skills. I have the ability to connect with people from
any social/economic/ethnic background. I am an honest and self-motivated person with
a strong desire for excellence.
I am confident speaking and making decisions during intense, crucial situations and
willing to accept criticism from my peers.
Virtual Communication/Social Media and Computing Skills
I am well-versed in Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and other social media
channels.
I worked as the web developer for multiple websites that were maintained by the BYUIdaho Instructional Development Department.
I have designed websites and blogs using Ingeniux Web Developer, Wordpress, and
Weebly.
Research
I have completed multiple undergraduate research projects including: The
Effectiveness of Advertising in the BYU-Idaho Campus Newspaper, Comparing Student
Leadership Models of the R&CW Conference, Avoiding a 2017 Lockout- Analyzing the
NBAs Collective Bargaining Agreement, Proselytizing in the 21st Century: How
