Las tendencias positivas en ciertos mercados estn alentando al

sector de la construccin, y estn brindando nuevas oportunidades
que estamos sabiendo aprovechar. Porque hasta ahora, no nos
hemos quedado de brazos cruzados. Todo lo contrario, hemos sido
muy flexibles y hemos sabido adaptarnos al cambio. En ULMA,
hemos fortalecido nuestro posicionamiento en aquellos mercados
que hemos definido como prioritarios, y nos hemos establecido
en otros nuevos con partners adecuados en algunos. Para ello,
hemos seguido una estrategia de diversificacin en los diferentes
mercados incidiendo en tres aspectos clave: capacidad de respuesta
eficiente, solucin integral y tecnologa.

Positive trends in assorted markets are vitalising the construction

sector, offering new opportunities that we are currently taking
advantage of. We have not stood idly by watching the world change
around us; on the contrary, we have been extremely flexible and
adapted to the changes. At ULMA, we have strengthened our
positioning in established markets identified as priorities, and we
have also entered for the first time into new markets -sometimes
in conjunction with compatible partners-. In order to do this, we
have followed a strategy of market diversification, focusing on
three key elements: responsiveness, comprehensive solutions, and
technology.

Los proyectos en Per y Brasil, que presentamos en este nmero, son

un claro ejemplo de nuestra capacidad de suministro, nuestro
amplio abanico de soluciones, una adecuada planificacin y
un completo soporte tcnico.
En cuanto a producto, estamos poniendo nuestros sistemas
autotrepantes a pleno rendimiento. Nuestra experiencia contrastada
en este sector nos est permitiendo contratar nuevos proyectos y
ejecutar otros singulares, como la Torre Q22 en Polonia. ATR, HWS
y RKS, todos ellos sistemas automticos, estn demostrando su
rapidez, eficiencia y adaptacin a cualquier geometra.

The projects in Peru and Brazil presented in this issue are clear
examples of our supply capacity, our wide range of solutions,
customised project planning, and comprehensive technical
support.
As for products, our self-climbing systems are working at full
capacity. Our longstanding experience in the sector is allowing us
to contract a variety of new projects, including some standouts
such as the Q22 Tower in Poland. ATR, HWS, and RKS systems, all
of which are automatic, are demonstrating their speed, efficiency,
and adaptability to any geometry.

nuestros clientes: en forma de carro CVS en un puente en Colombia
y en forma de carro para tnel en Australia.

In addition, the versatility of our MK system continues to pleasantly

surprise our customers. It is currently being employed as a CVS
form carrier for a bridge in Colombia and a tunnel carriage in
Australia.

En ULMA la demanda de nuestros clientes de una mayor eficiencia

ha adquirido un papel importante en la innovacin y desarrollo de
productos. De ah que los ventajas que aporta el carro CVS y por lo
tanto del sistema MK sean muy valoradas: flexibilidad, reduccin
de costes, incremento de la eficiencia y por consiguiente un
aumento de la competitividad.

At ULMA our customers demand for increased efficiency has

Los carros CVS, de la familia MK, estn
cubriendo las expectativas del cliente en
todos y cada uno de los mercados donde
se ponen en movimiento. Brasil, Colombia,
Canad, Chequia, son solo una muestra
de pases donde CVS ha demostrado su
capacidad tecnolgica en la ejecucin de
puentes.
CVS form carriers (MK System) are meeting
customer requirements in each and every
one of the markets where they are put
into action. Brazil, Colombia, Canada
and the Czech Republic are just some of the
countries where CVS has demonstrated its
bridge-building technological prowess.

El carro es una estructura mvil, dispuesto de un sistema hidrulico,

que permite la construccin del tablero de un puente mediante
dovelas sucesivas in situ.

The form carrier is a mobile structure equipped with a hydraulic

system that enables the bridge deck to be built by placing incremental
segments in situ.

Al tratarse de un sistema modular puede adecuarse a diferentes

tipos de secciones y a tableros de canto variable.

Being a modular system, it can adapt to different section types

and variable deck thicknesses.

Solucin completa y alta rentabilidad

El carro CVS es una solucin flexible y de alto rendimiento en
aquellos casos donde el apeo sobre el suelo es complejo as como
para salvar grandes vanos. Est diseado con una gran capacidad
portante sin que ello repercuta en su flexibilidad a la hora de adaptarse a distintas secciones.
Tanto en venta como en alquiler, una vez desmontado puede volver
a reutilizarse en cualquier otro proyecto y en cualquiera de las
aplicaciones que ofrece el sistema MK.
Basado en el concepto modular del sistema MK, el carro CVS se
adapta a distintas geometras de dovela. El encofrado interior y
exterior son independientes entre s, lo que permite un ciclo de trabajo
ms corto. Al estar compuesto de elementos estndares y reutilizables
y contar con un menor nmero de piezas, tanto los costes del equipo
como los pesos son menores frente a otros carros hechos a medida.

Complete and highly cost-effective solution

The CVS form carrier is a flexible and highly effective solution in
cases involving complex ground-based shoring, or where large spans
need to be covered. It has been designed with a large load-bearing
capacity without affecting its flexibility to adapt to different sections.
Once dismantled, both purchase and rental options can be reused
on any other project and any of the applications offered by the
MK system.
Based on the MK systems modular concept, the CVS form carrier
adapts to different segment geometries. Interior and exterior
formwork is independent of each other, enabling a shorter work
cycle. Comprising standard and reusable items, and containing
fewer parts, equipment costs and weight are reduced in
comparison with other custom built carriers.

FULL PERFORMANCE SELF-CLIMBING SYSTEMS
En el centro de la capital polaca se alza la torre Q22, uno de los
rascacielos ms altos de Polonia. Con 155 m de altura, este edificio
de oficinas contar con 47 plantas, 5 de ellas bajo rasante.
ULMA ha puesto en funcionamiento una amplia gama de encofrados y andamios entre los que cobran especial protagonismo los
sistemas autotrepantes.
ULMA inici sus trabajos en julio de 2014, y en poco ms de 20
meses el proyecto estar terminado.
One of the highest skyscrapers in Poland, the Q22 tower is rising
in the centre of the Polish capital. At 155 m high, this office
building will have 47 floors, 5 of which will be underground.
ULMA has implemented a wide range of formwork and scaffolding,
amongst which self-climbing systems are especially significant.
ULMA started work in July 2014, and the project will be finished in
little over 20 months.

Standard self-climbing systems solutions

Compuesto por 4 ncleos de secciones diferentes, ULMA ha solucionado cada uno de los casos con los mismos sistemas autotrepantes: ATR y RKS.

Consisting of 4 cores with different cross-sections, ULMA has

provided a solution to each case using the same self-climbing
systems: ATR and RKS.

Por la geometra variable del edificio, las secciones de los ncleos

1-3 no variaban hasta el nivel +40, a diferencia de la seccin 4 que
terminaba en el nivel +15.

Because the buildings geometry is irregular, the cross-sections

of cores 1-3 do not vary until level +40, unlike section 4, which
finishes at level +15.

En los dos primeros ncleos se han empleado plataformas autotrepantes ATR-P dentro de una solucin estndar. Esta solucin
incluye tres plataformas de trabajo, y una estructura portante para
el encofrado modular ORMA.

ATR-P self-climbing systems were used for the first two cores, as
part of a standard solution. This solution includes three working
platforms, and a bearing structure for the ORMA modular
formwork.

Con este sistema autotrepante es posible elevar el conjunto encofrado 50 cm por encima del forjado as como el retranqueo del
muro a la distancia requerida.

This self-climbing system can be used to raise a gang formwork

50 cm above the slab and offset from the wall to the required
distance.

En el cuarto ncleo se han combinado las plataformas interiores

KSP, como sistema tradicional de trepado, y en el exterior, encofrado autotrepante RKS. Los conjuntos permanecen guiados en el
muro durante toda la fase de izado convirtindolo en un producto
gil, flexible y seguro.
La proteccin y seguridad de los trabajadores frente a cadas
e inclemencias climatolgicas es una mxima en este tipo de proyectos.
La cubricin del permetro del edificio se ha realizado con 42
pantallas de proteccin HWS.

In the fourth core, the traditional interior climbing system KSP Shaft
Platforms have been combined with exterior RKS self-climbing
formwork. The gangs are guided on the wall during the lifting
phase making it an easy-to-use, flexible and safe product.
Worker protection from falls and inclement weather is a priority
in such projects. The building perimeter has been covered using 42
HWS protective screens.

Planta 2-8:
Un muro inclinado atravesaba parte del edificio. Para ello se han
empleado consolas BMK con encofrado modular ORMA y tres
niveles de plataformas de trabajo y barandillas perimetrales. Las
vigas se han realizado con ORMA sobre cimbra BRIO a gran altura.

Floor 2-8:
An inclined wall passes through part of the building. BMK
brackets were used with ORMA modular formwork and three
levels of working platforms and perimeter handrails. The beams
were built using ORMA on BRIO shoring at a great height.

Planta 15:
Para el depsito de agua ubicado sobre el cuarto ncleo de la
torre, ULMA propuso una estructura portante especfica. Su misin
era apear la estructura de hormign armado que sirve para el
soporte del tanque. En la solucin se emplearon ocho cerchas MK
de 2,5 m de canto y 8,2 m de largo. La estructura ha quedado
empotrada en los muros mediante unos nudos MK adaptados.
Floor 15:
For a water tank located on the fourth tower cores, ULMA
proposed a specific bearing structure. Its purpose is to shore
the reinforced concrete structure used to support the tank. The
solution employed eight 2.5 m thick MK trusses of 8.2 m in
length. The structure was embedded in the walls using adapted
MK knots.

En el crecimiento del pas, el sector energtico es bsico. En este
caso la apuesta ha sido clara: modelo eficiente, energa limpia e
integracin en el sistema nacional de Brasil. Segn las previsiones
de demanda energtica para 2019 (829,5 TWh), Belo Monte ser
capaz de abastecer el 40% del consumo de Brasil.

The energy sector is key to the countrys growth. Here the

commitment was clear: an efficient model, clean energy and
integration into Brazils national system. According to energy-demand
forecasts for 2019 (829.5 TWh), Belo Monte will be capable of
supplying 40% of Brazils consumption.

ULMA participa en este proyecto con el suministro de encofrados

tanto estndares como especiales, as como sistemas de apeo y
acceso. La capacidad de respuesta de ULMA en Brasil en trminos
de producto, servicio y plazos ha sido importante a la hora de tomar
parte en esta obra.

ULMAs role in this project is to supply standard and special formwork,

shoring and access systems. ULMAs capacity to provide products,
services and meet deadlines in Brazil was a significant factor for
taking part in this project.

Construido a la orilla del ro Xingu, en el Estado de Par, al norte de

Brasil, el proyecto consta de dos centrales de generacin de energa:

Built on the banks of the River Xingu, in the northern State of Par,
the project consists of two power generation plants:

Sitio Belo Monte

Aguas arriba se ubica la casa de maquinas

principal y cuenta con 18 unidades de
generacin de energa del tipo Turbinas
Francis.
Para obtener la altura ideal de 91 m y as
generar ms energa, se excavaron 20 mill
de m3 de tierra.
The main powerhouse is located upstream
and contains 18 Francis Turbine type power
generation units.
Over 20 thousand m 3 of ground was
excavated to obtain the ideal height of 91 m
required to generate maximum power.

Con la Cimbra T-60 y encofrado ligero
COMAIN se han realizado vigas de cuelgue
de secciones considerables. La modularidad y composicin metlica de los paneles
han permitido obtener una estructura
de gran resistencia, fundamental en este
tipo de proyectos.

Toma de agua
Las Cimbras MK han sido el apeo de la losa
de grandes requerimientos, ya que ofrecen
la mejor respuesta ante estructuras con
gran exigencia de carga.

Mechanical Galleries
Using T-60 shoring system and COMAIN
light formwork, considerable sections of drop
beams were formed. The modular, steel panels
enabled a high-strength structure to be
built, essential in this type of project.

Water intake
MK shoring system was used to support
large slabs, as it offers the best response to
heavy load-bearing structures.

Sitio Pimental

Ubicado a 40 km de la central de Belo Monte, presenta 30 m de

altura (cada), y dispone de una casa de mquinas complementaria,
con 6 turbinas bulbo y un aliviadero de 18 compuertas.

Located 40 km from the Belo Monte plant, with a 30 m height

(drop), it has a complementary powerhouse, with 6 bulb turbines
and an 18 gate spillway.

Con ENKOFORM VMK se han encofrado
amplias reas, ya que se trata de un sistema
adaptable a diferentes formas, tamaos y
geometras.

ENKOFORM VMK was used to provide
formwork for extensive areas, as the system
can be adapted to different forms, sizes
and geometries.

Toma de agua
La seccin de estas galeras es variable, con
la boca de entrada circular de 9 m de dimetro y la boca de salida cuadrada de 12 m.
La alta capacidad de carga y las mltiples
soluciones del sistema MK se materializaron en un carro MK para tneles de 20 m
de longitud. El desplazamiento por rales
ha agilizado y rentabilizado tanto el tiempo
como el trabajo ya que ha liberado la gra
para realizar otro tipo de trabajos.

Transicin de entrada a la turbina

Con una longitud de 7,3 m, comienza con una
seccin circular de 10,7 m y termina en
seccin cuadrada de 14,31 m. Esta transicin
es compleja ya que la variacin de la geometra se produce en una extensin reducida.

Water intake
The water intakes vary in cross-section, with
a 9 m diameter inlet mouth and square 12 m
outlet. The high load-bearing capacity
and multiple solutions provided by the
MK system materialised in a MK form
carrier for 20 m long tunnels. Moving the
carrier on rails made the work faster and
more cost-effective, as it freed up the crane
for other work.

Turbine entry transition

7.3 m in length, the transition commences
with a circular 10.7 m section and ends
in a square 14.31 m section. This transition
is complex as the geometric variation
takes place over a short length.

WITH AN ANNUAL PRODUCTION CAPACITY OF 1.6 MILLION TONS OF CEMENT, THE NEW PLANT
BASED IN PIURA, PERU, WILL BE THE MOST MODERN IN LATIN AMERICA
ULMA ha suministrado a la obra equipos y
sistemas para la construccin de silos, tolvas, almacenes, edificios de procesado, as
como para los accesos dentro de la planta.
La rapidez en la distribucin del material,
la seguridad de los sistemas y la experiencia
en este tipo de obras han sido fundamentales a la hora de adjudicar el proyecto.

ULMA has supplied the project with the

equipment and systems necessary to
construct silos, hoppers, warehouses, and
processing facilities, as well as the access
points inside the plant.
Distribution speed, system safety, and
experience with similar projects were
all crucial components of the decision to
award ULMA with the contract.

De los numerosos edificios ejecutados por

ULMA, el silo de cemento presenta 70 m
de altura, muros cilndricos y losas cnicas.
A 18 m de altura, el anillo exterior requera
del apoyo consistente de las consolas BMK.
Configurables a muros circulares y de fcil
montaje, no solo han soportado los paneles
COMAIN, como encofrado del anillo, sino
que han creado un nivel donde colocar
plataformas de trabajo para labores de
ferrallado y encofrado.
El sistema de vigas ENKOFLEX es ideal para
el encofrado de espacios de losa con
interferencias, al igual que para geometras
especiales. Este sistema ha sido el elegido
como encofrado de losa en la mayor parte de
edificios. En combinacin con BRIO, tanto
en forma de cimbra como de andamio, ha
soportado las cargas de la losa y las sobrecargas del personal y equipos de trabajo.

Amongst the numerous buildings constructed

by ULMA, the cement silo is 70 m high,
has cylindrical walls and conical slabs. At
the height of 18 m, the outer ring required
the solid support of BMK climbing brackets.
Adaptable to circular walls and easy to
assemble, the brackets not only supported
the COMAIN panels used as the formwork
for the ring, but they also created a surface
upon which the working platforms could
be attached, allowing the reinforcement
and formwork to be installed.
The ENKOFLEX beam system is ideal for
shuttering slabs where interferences are
present or special geometries are required.
It is the preferred slab formwork system
for the majority of building projects. In
combination with BRIO as both shoring system and scaffolding, it bore the load of the slab
in addition to that of personnel and equipment.

SISTEMA MK: RENTABLE, FLEXIBLE Y MODULAR

MK SYSTEM: COST-EFFECTIVE, FLEXIBLE AND MODULAR

El tramo Tintenbar-Ewingsdale de la autopista del Pacfico se

prolonga a lo largo de 17 km. Los objetivos principales de este
proyecto son mejorar la seguridad vial, conseguir un flujo de trfico
ininterrumpido y facilitar el acceso a la autopista desde las distintas
localidades.
El tnel de 800 m de longitud y 19 m de anchura por cada boca se
ha construido para evitar las pendientes, as como para reducir la
contaminacin ambiental y acstica en la zona.
La experiencia en la ejecucin de este tipo de proyectos en
Australia est ms que demostrada: Legacy way, GUSBUS, Trackstar,
etc. Son solo una muestra de las posibilidades del carro MK en la
construccin de tneles de cualquier radio, forma y considerables
cargas. El sistema MK se ha reutilizado en todos estos proyectos
mostrando una vez ms, su alto rendimiento tanto en su modalidad
de alquiler como en la de venta.
Los profesionales de ULMA&UNI-SPAN han trabajado codo a
codo con el cliente en el desarrollo y diseo de la estructura as
como, in situ, en la misma obra.

The Tintenbar-Ewingsdale stretch of the Pacific highway is 17 km long.

The projects main objectives are to improve road safety, achieve
uninterrupted traffic flow and provide access to the highway from
nearby towns.
The 800 m long tunnel, with 19 m wide entrances at each end, was
constructed to avoid gradients and to reduce environmental and
acoustic contamination in the area.
ULMA has extensive proven expertise in carrying out this
type of project in Australia: Legacy way, GUSBUS, Trackstar,
among others, are examples of the possibilities provided by the
MK form carrier for building tunnels of any radius, shape, and
load-bearing capacity. The MK system has been reused in these
projects, once again demonstrating its high performance, both
under lease or purchased.
ULMA&UNI-SPAN professionals worked elbow to elbow with the
customer on developing and designing the structure, as well as on
site.

En esta ocasin, el hastial y la bveda se
han realizado por separado. As la ejecucin
de los hastiales ha sido rpida y la estructura del carro MK se ha aligerado con el
consiguiente ahorro en costes.
On this occasion, the side wall and vault
were produced separately. This meant the side
walls were built more quickly and allowed
the MK carriage structure to be lightened,
with the corresponding costs savings.

RPIDO AVANCE CON LOS CARROS CVS

FAST PROGRESS WITH CVS FORM CARRIERS
El viaducto El Aserradero, en Colombia, es una de las estructuras
ms complicadas del tramo Segunda Calzada Primavera - Camilo C,
de 13,1 kilmetros. Esta va es una de las primeras obras del
proyecto Autopistas para la Prosperidad que crear una salida ms
rpida desde el suroeste hacia el Pacfico colombiano. La infraestructura va a beneficiar a cerca de 260.000 personas que vern
reducido el tiempo de sus desplazamientos, as como un impulso
al desarrollo econmico de la regin.

The El Aserradero viaduct, in Colombia, is one of the most

complicated structures on the 13.1 kilometre stretch of the
Segunda Calzada Primavera - Camilo C. This road is one of the
first works in the Autopistas para la Prosperidad project that will
create a faster exit from the south-west towards the Pacific Coast
of Colombia. The infrastructure will benefit nearly 260,000 people
whose journey times will be reduced while the regions economic
development will be boosted.

ULMA has proposed using the CVS form
carrier system, as the use of ground shoring
is not viable because of the areas relief.

El viaducto de doble calzada se prolonga ms de 250 m de longitud.

Ambos puentes de 34 m de altura disponen de una seccin idntica, de 10,3 m de anchura, canto variable de 6 a 2 m, hastiales
rectos y cierta curva en uno de sus extremos. Cada tablero se apoya
en dos pilas con una luz mxima de 125 m.

The two lane viaduct will be over 250 m long. Both 34 m high
bridges will be identical in cross-section, 10.3 m wide, vary in depth
between 6-2 m, have straight side walls and a slight curve at one
of their ends. Each bridge deck is supported by two piers with a
maximum span of 125 m.

ULMA ha suministrado 4 carros de de 10,3 m de anchura diseados

para una carga mxima de 200 t. Los altos rendimientos de este
sistema han sido palpables en la reduccin del tiempo de ejecucin.

ULMA has supplied four 10.3 m wide form carriers designed for a
maxim load of 200 tonnes. The systems high performance reduced
construction time.

Cada carro CVS ha partido de una pila del vano, dovela 0, y han
avanzado de forma simultnea en direccin opuesta, en segmentos
de 5 m y ciclos de hormigonado semanales, hasta encontrarse
y ejecutar la dovela de cierre de 2 m.

Each CVS form carrier started from one side of the pier segment
and simultaneously moved forward in segments of 5 m in opposite
direction, with a weekly concrete cycles, until closing of the
bridge in the middle with a final segment of 2 m.

Cada carro ha contado con plataformas de trabajo y sistemas de

acceso a todos los espacios de trabajo, siempre de acuerdo a los
mximos criterios de seguridad.

Each form carrier had working platforms and access systems to

all work spaces, always in compliance with the maximum safety
standards.
