Search Tool Comparison

1. What were your Search term(s)? School Library Media Specialist


was my search terms or phrase. What Search Tools did you use? I
used Awesome Library and Federal Resources for Edu Excellence.
2. How many hits did you get from each tool? When I used Awesome
Library I typed School Library Media Specialist in the search
engine and I did not get any hits. However, when I typed Library in
the search box I got 1,367 hits. My search using the Federal
Resources for Educ Excellence revealed 90 different resources.

4. Are they the same sites? None of the sites were the same; however,
they all were related to the term library.
5. Are they in the same order? No, they were not in the same order.

What do you attribute these finding to? The two different Search
Tools hose different types of information. The Federal Resources
for Educ Excellence were mostly digital resources and they all
consisted of various types of technology; however, the Awesome
Library results were actual library websites and library resources.
The Federal Resources for Educ Excellence was a better tool in my

opinion because it consisted of a visual, description of the website,


a date, and a link to the actual site.
