Thanks everyone for your timely responses to queries and
submitting your CRFs so faithfully it makes all difference,
and we look forward to keeping on working with you!

Keep including those elective

high-risk cases!
Remember that these patients with placental abnormality,
who are among the likeliest to need donor blood transfusion
for haemorrhage, are therefore the group who are most likely
to benefit from cell salvage. It will also give us the best chance
of showing a difference in our primary outcome which will
hopefully benefit similar patients in the future!

Word of the Month:

YES!

Keep on washing those swabs!

We will need to do the best we can to ensure that those
participants who are allocated to the intervention get as
much blood back as possible, and that we give them the
highest benefit from the treatment. So wash ALL SWABS in
1 Litre Normal Saline even if they dont look soiled enough, it
just might be enough to trigger your machine into processing.

We did it you did it: Our funder has now officially granted an
extension to the recruitment period, until June 2016. We are
over the moon that well be able to complete this important
study together with you. Many thanks for all your hard work,
keeping up those very convincing recruitment rates, and
responding to our additional requests in preparation for this
it was worth it!
