Course Assignments / Modules

POST
Qualify to earn course credit by submitting one original module POST by Tuesday, 5PM.
A quality POST is generally composed in three (3) parts as outlined below.

The PROBLEM
What was one (1) problem/dilemma that was discussed in the materials for this learning module?
Describe in detail the situation faced by teachers ... not the content of the article(s).

The PROPOSAL
How did the author(s) go about, or suggest going about, solving the problem/dilemma?
What "plans" and moves do they suggest for us to make and take?

The PREDICTION
Guess What might happen if this became common practice by educators?
What do you say? Take a position. Do you agree? Why? Why not?

The POST also includes an image that supports the concept/proposal and your explanation
of why you decided to make it a part of your POST. See an example on the Webcourse.

DISCUSS
Earn course credit by contributing to at least five (5) Discussions no later than Friday, 5PM.
Each REPLY is made specifically to a colleague in the course. Below is an example, which might earn
course credit; because it addresses the colleague by name, their thinking ... and includes an original
thought from the discussant.
Good point Jonathon about the need for the teacher to provide specific instructions.
I remember being engaged with substitute teachers who assumed that we understood their
procedures. We were used to the procedures of the regular teacher and became confused
and frustrated. So did the substitute teacher!
Discussions can be joined any time, however each REPLY must be posted at least five (5) minutes
apart from each other. For example, 9:25am, 9:29am would disqualify the second REPLY.
Incomplete Assignments
Module credit is earned by contributions describe above, made on or before the Course Schedule.
There is no partial credit awarded and no opportunity to submit late assignments for module credit.
Further, successful completion of each module is required to move through the course. When a late
contribution is made, the student may request assessment via Knightsmail. The grade 1 will be
assigned to the module, and permission will be granted to move through the course.
NOTE: All Learning Modules are opened after PX Module success so to that students can
contribute ahead of the suggested Course Schedule (page6).

Module PX / Practice Extra

To learn how to earn course credit students engage in the Module PX / Practice Extra.
This exercise provides an opportunity to upload the required PROFILE PICTURE and also to
POST and REPLY; the method used to contribute to the class community ... and earn course credit.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT FINANCIAL AID
As of Fall 2014 all faculty are required to document students activity at the beginning
of each course. In order to document that you began this course, be sure to complete Module PX by the
end of the first week of classes, or as soon as possible after adding the course. Failure to do so may
result in a delay in the disbursement of your financial aid.
