16th May, 2015 Saturday 10:00 am till 12:00 pm New Block Auditorium
Speaker: Syed Basit Ali Jafri
Topic: Open House Session: A glimpse of 3D Game making
Overview: This will be a short session on how to use Unity 3D to make 3D games. Obviously a couple of
hours can only create craving for the topic, cannot even cover a single aspect of it. The idea is to tell
people about the importance of using Unity 3D, showing them with the help of an example, how easy it is
to make 3D games and eventually drive them to sign up for the week-long workshop/training. The open
house starts with a generic talk with some slides to be shown and then goes into a demo session where
instructor will practically create a small game and show how it is done.
Workshop signups will be available right outside the open-house venue to facilitate signup for the weeklong workshop.
Profile: Basit Ali is an Entrepreneur, Professional Technology Trainer, Apps and games development
expert, Tech enthusiast and a technology consultant. He did his Masters in Computer Sciences from
LUMS in 2003. During his stay at LUMS his area of interest had been theoretical computer sciences
including Graph Theory, Analysis and design of advanced Algorithms and Data Structures etc.

how our near, urban future would be coloured by new technology, from interactive custom messaging to
multi-modal, multi-continental telepresence.

they have developed. Students will also be given take home assignments that will be submitted next
morning. At the end of the program, there will be a small game-making competition.
The proposed course is an introduction to game development using Unit-3D. Unity 3D is a cross platform
game development tool that allows game-developers to quickly and easily develop games for a number of
devices like mobile phones, tablets, PC and consoles. Here is more about the training
