PRESS RELEASE

Beginning on Friday, March 13, 2015 (at 9:00 am sharp) at Villa d'Este, Cernobbio, and concluding
on Saturday, March 14, 2015 (at approx. 1:30 pm), our 26th annual workshop will take place.
THE OUTLOOK FOR THE ECONOMY AND FINANCE
This year The European House - Ambrosetti is celebrating its 50th anniversary and wants to take the
occasion to devote special attention to the theme of entrepreneurship, the most powerful driver of
economic growth. Without entrepreneurs, there is no growth. Without growth there are no jobs and
without jobs there is no future. This is the message The European House - Ambrosetti would like to
promote for the future with many activities and initiatives, aimed also at the younger generations, to
take place over the course of 2015.
The main issues to be examined during the workshop include:
Friday, March 13
The global economic situation.

The session will see the involvement of important economists who will face off on the current criticalities
and prospects of the world economy, providing short- and medium-term economic forecasts for the worlds
main areas.

How can growth be made more sustainable and inclusive?

The discussion will centre on the most effective policies for identifying important paths to economic growth
at the global level and the structural reforms needed to achieve accelerated growth.

Study presentation: Connected Banking: Emerging Opportunities through Digital Innovation for
the European and Italian banking systems
This study, carried out by The European House - Ambrosetti in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard, will
analyze the ways in which digitalization and new technologies are changing the banking sector and its
business model, highlighting the action priorities for Italy in this regard.

Conversation among investors: where are hidden opportunities?

Leaders in the banking and venture capital sectors will talk about investment opportunities and returns
both in light of the current global scenario and of future prospects.

Financing innovation and growth

The session will focus on how European governments and institutions can support innovation and
sustainable economic growth through the financial system.

Saturday, March 14
Agenda for Europe

The session will delve into various issues on the European agenda, including the euro-dollar rate and the
stability of the Eurozone in the light of the ongoing debate between Greece and European institutions.

Agenda for Italy and presentation of the Ambrosetti Club study Finance for Growth
The Minister of Economy and Finance and the Governor of the Bank of Italy will discuss the actions that the
institutions they represent are taking to boost the economy. The session will also include the presentation of
a study, conducted in the framework of Ambrosetti Clubs activities and in collaboration with the technical
secretariats of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which
deals with the topic Finance for Growth and is aimed at examining the measures thus far introduced by
the government, providing suggestions for improving the current regulatory system, and making
proposals for encouraging an acceleration in the countrys growth.

In line with tradition, in order to offer an overview on the world macroeconomic situation, a brief
document will be distributed to all participants in the proceedings that assembles and re-elaborates
the macroeconomic forecasts of the most important credit institutions, investment banks and
international organizations for the major industrialized and emerging economies (Italy, Germany,
France, Spain, Greece, U.K., U.S., Japan, China, Brazil, Russia, Turkey and India).

The event will take place, according to tradition, behind closed doors. We would also be happy to
arrange, at your request, interviews or other services with workshop speakers, if they are available.
We wish to remind you that this is a private initiative and, as such, will necessitate respect of rules of
behavior intended to ensure that the workshop proceeds fruitfully in a tranquil atmosphere.
The accredited press is therefore invited to comply with the guidelines that will be distributed at the
time of registration and that are already available for download from our website
