PostTest.YoustarteachUnitbytakingaPreTest.Ifyouachieve80%orhigheronthisPreTest,youpass
andimmediatelyadvancetothenextUnit.Ifyouscorelessthan80%onthePreTest,youworkthrough

thethreeModulesintheUnit.(Modulesaredescribedinthenextparagraph.)Afteryoucompleteall
threeModules,youtakethePostTest.Youmustscore80%orhigheronthePostTesttomoveontothe
nextUnit.EachPreTestcanonlybetakenonce,butthePostTestcanbetakenmultipletimesuntilyou
score80%orhigher.Ifyoudonotearn80%orhigherwithintwoattemptsonthePostTest,youmust

1. LabAttendance:
a. UseyourNOVAIDcardtoswipeinandoutofthelabinordertoreceiveattendancecreditforlabtime

b. Studentsshouldnotlockorshutdownanycomputer.

4. Whiletakingatestorquiz:
a. AbidebytheAcademicHonestyPolicypostedinthetestareaandintheNOVAstudenthandbook.The
followingareconsideredexamplesAcademicDishonesty:
i. Cheatingonanexaminationorquiz,includinggiving,receiving,orsolicitinginformationandthe
unauthorizeduseofnotesorothermaterialsduringtheexaminationorquiz.
ii. Buying,selling,stealing,orsolicitinganymaterialpurportedtobetheunreleasedcontentsofa
forthcomingexamination,ortheuseofsuchmaterial.
iii. Substitutingforanotherpersonduringanexaminationorallowinganotherpersontotakeyour
place.
iv. Plagiarizingmeanstakingcreditforanotherpersonsworkorideas.Thisincludescopyinganother
personsworkeitherwordforwordorinsubstancewithoutacknowledgingthesource.
v. Acceptinghelpfromorgivinghelptoanotherpersontocompleteanassignment,unlesstheinstructor
hasapprovedsuchcollaborationinadvance.
vi. KnowinglyfurnishingfalseinformationtotheCollege;forgeryandalterationoruseofCollege
documentsorinstrumentsofidentificationwiththeintenttodefraud.
b. Labstaffmembersarenotpermittedtoanswercontentrelatedquestionsduringtesting.
c. Onceaquizortestisstarted,youmustfinishit.Leavingyourcomputerstationwhiletakingatestora
quizwillbeinterpretedashavingsubmittedthetestorquiz.
i. Labstaffmaysubmitthetestorquizforyou.
ii.Nobathroombreaksareallowedduringatestorquiz.
d. Suspiciousbehaviorwillnotbetolerated.
i. Ifsuspiciousbehaviorisobserved(lookingdowninlap,handsinlap,viewinganotherstudentswork,
etc.),theproctormayaskthestudenttostopthebehavior.
ii.FailuretostopthebehaviorwillbetreatedasAcademicDishonesty.
e. RecallthatifyouviolatetheAcademicHonestypolicy,youreceivethegradeofUinthecourse.Ifyouare
caughtviolatingtheAcademicHonestyPolicyinthelabyourtest/quizwillbesubmittedandyouwillbe
askedtoleavethelab.Yourinstructorwillbenotified.
5. AdditionalAttemptsforquizzesandtests:
a. LabsupervisorswillnotreviewPreTestswithstudents.
b. Ifyoudonotgetover80%onaModuleQuiz:
i. Afterthefirstattempt,completethepersonalizedmodulereview.
ii.Afterthesecondattempt,completethestudyplanassignmentforthequiz.
iii. Afterthethirdattempt,thelabsupervisormayreviewthequizwithyouhowever,onlyyour
instructorwillprovideadditionalattempts.
c. Ifyoudonotgetover80%onaPostTest:
i. Afterfirstandsecondattempts,thelabsupervisormayreviewthetestwithyouoncethePracticeTest
andreviewproblemsaredone.
ii.Afterthethirdattempt,thelabsupervisormayreviewthetestwithyouandgiveyouafourthattempt.
iii. Afterfourthattempt,thelabsupervisormayreviewthetestwithyouhowever,youmustseeyour
instructorforadditionalattempts.
d. DuringthelastweekoftermONLY,instructorpermissionforattemptsbeyond3rdonquizzesand4thon
