Gather your site requirements and check them with the information
in the Site Requirements Guide at support.netapp.com.

verify that the ID for each disk shelf in the stack is unique,
Set the shelf ID Visually
and if necessary, set the FAS2240-4s disk shelf ID:

1. Remove the bezel.


2. Press and hold the U-shaped button above the LEDs
until the first digit blinks.
3. Press the button to change the number until the correct
number is displayed.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the second digit.


5. Press and hold the button until the second number stops blinking.
Result: Both numbers blink and the operator display panel fault LED lights in about five seconds.
6. Power-cycle the system to make the new disk shelf ID take effect.

1. Plug in all the power cords.


2. Turn on the power to the disk shelves and storage system.

Boot the system

1. Use the console interface to answer the setup questions for each
node in your system. Use the data you collected with the setup
worksheet from the Data ONTAP Software Setup Guide.
2. Check your system cabling by running the WireGauge utility from
the NetApp Support site at support.netapp.com.
3. Enable AutoSupport, then use the My AutoSupport feature to view
the health of your system on support.netapp.com/NOW/asuphome/.
