7.2. Tower installation

7.2.1. Brief Introduction of Tower Installation

7.2.2. Erection of Freestanding Tower System

7.2.2.1 Excavation
Choose the site; dig the hole as the following picture. The depth of the hole is depends on local soil conditions.
Geological study is a must. If the ground is soft, the hole must be dig to the hardpan. Accordingly, the concrete
should be thickened to the level of the ground.

7.2.2.2 Formwork
Make a central space with the formwork as shown.
The formworks and reinforcements must be designed according with local geological study and
construction regulation applied in the area.
As shown in below picture below:

7.2.2.3 Anchors

Insert the threaded end of the anchor screw into the corresponding hole on the flange and adjust
the anchor to be vertical to the flange. And then weld the anchor to the flange firmly at the back of
flange. And then weld the other end of anchor with suitable length steel bar. At last, place the
pedestal cage into the central space. As for the specific standard, users can refer to the diagram as
the following picture.

7.2.2.4 Placing Concrete

Pour the specified quality of concrete by designer. Fulfill the space that board circles. Try to make the surface
flat. After a 24 hour period, the formwork can be removed and the excavated hole backfilled.

7.2.2.5 Erecting the Tower

When hoisting, a suitable strap should be used. Gradually lift the tower until it is vertical. Align the tower flange
and the anchor rods. Slowly lower the tower and fasten it to the anchor screws with nuts.

Safety is the first concern in the process of tower erection.

This work needs to be carried out by qualified personnel.

Erection should only take place in LOW WIND conditions.
CAUTION
CAUTION::
Before erection takes place ensure that the two generator output cables are short circuited in a suitable connector
to avoid blades rotating during this process.
If the wiring has been run to the control panel the two output cables should be connected and the switch short
circuited. See below connection procedures.
Insert the two generator output cables into the corresponding Wind Generator switch on Rectifier/Dump load
controller and then fasten them and put this switch at the ON position. Place Wind Generator Stop/Operate
Switch at the Stop position Meanwhile, you'll see a small mark "ON" on the switch as showed in the
following picture.
