consultation and due notice, if the circumstances so require.

This appointment is on a temporary contract for the duration


of the Apprenticeship, for 6 months and will be until 28 th of
October 2015.
We encourage our Apprentices to seek permanent
employment with Hotel Shalom, but we are not able to
guarantee a permanent position for you.

Under this contract, your period of continuous service for
statutory purposes dates from the date of commencement
with Hotel Shalom as specified above or as notified to you in
earlier statements of particulars, provided that there have
been no breaks in service between appointments with Hotel
Shalom.
Hotel Shalom operates within a performance management
culture and as such all employees performance is monitored
and appropriate support provided.
Apprentices are expected to comply with and undertake all
aspects of the Apprenticeship programme to a satisfactory
standard. During your apprenticeship, you will be subject to
regular reviews undertaken by the hotel Manager to ensure
that you are progressing satisfactorily your work placement.
Concerns will be managed through disciplinary procedures as
appropriate. If you fail to meet your targets, or fail to attend
work or due to misconduct, this apprenticeship may be
terminated early, subject to the notice clause below.

Grade and Salary Scale:

The substantive grade for your job is Trainee


You are appointed on a pay of Rs 18,000 per month

You will be paid by monthly direct credit to your account at a


recognised Bank or Building Society. Payment will be on the
1s of the month, or previous working day if this falls on a
weekend or bank holiday.
Hotel Shalom has the right to make deductions from your
salary in circumstances where there has been for any reason
whatsoever an overpayment of remuneration, expenses or
other emoluments to you, or any other payment in excess of
your contractual entitlement, or in the case of expenses, the
amount of reimbursement due to you.

Your normal period of work is 48 hours per week.

During your Apprenticeship, for the first 6 months, notice on


either side will be 1 week. After 6 months, notice on either
side will be 4 weeks.

Payment of sick pay is subject to the terms and conditions as


defined by labour laws of India
The Hotel Shaloms sick pay scheme is intended to provide
income whilst you recover sufficiently from an illness or
medical condition to be able to return to work. Should it
become established during any such absence that for medical
reasons a return to work is unlikely or impossible, your
employment may be terminated before expiry of sickness
payments under the scheme.
It should be particularly noted in circumstances where
damages may be receivable from a third party in respect of an
accident, the employee should sign an undertaking to refund
to the authority the total amount of allowance or the proportion
thereof represented in the amount of damages received.

You are also entitled to paid time off for the bank and public
holidays, as they occur in each leave year or other such
holiday in lieu as agreed with the manager.

Holiday Entitlement:

There is a Disciplinary Procedure for dealing with concerns


about conduct or performance, which may lead to disciplinary
action being taken or a decision to dismiss.

Disciplinary Procedure:

Working in hospitality sector, you are expected to observe


high standards of conduct in your working life. A copy of the
Hotels Standards of Conduct is enclosed. You are expected
to adhere to this, to the Employee Conduct and Propriety
Policy and to any professional ethics that may exist for your
class of employment. The Hotel has the right, at its discretion,
to add to, amend or delete disciplinary rules.

In/ Out: Criminal Records:

During the course of your employment you are required to


inform your manager if you are the subject of Police
proceedings, including investigation, prosecution, conviction
or bind over orders. Failure to disclose such information at

the appropriate time could lead to disciplinary action being


taken.
