If there's one thing you don't want to pirate, it's probably antivirus. I don't
see the point either, Avast Free has all the critical features enabled.
You don't need a firewall, windows includes one. You don't need a automatic soft
ware updater, cause it rarely works anyway..You'll still have to update stuff ma
nually. You probably don't need a military grade "data shredder", if you do I be
t you can find something on sourceforge in no time.

I accidentally ran it in compatibility mode
then uninstalled the 'Avast Antivirus' version that I had downloaded from the si
te -(an annoying farce).
I restarted to get rid of the other version (had to restart more than once for s
ome reason though
uninstalled this program
restarted - Just once
and then installed again. Works perfectly
Note though that I have Windows 7, 64bit, but perhaps this may help someone else

This is what i used to work perfectly on my win7 x64. I installed using typical
setting
then I used the 6.0 serial keys even though the program is 5.0 version in the Ma
intenance>registration>insert license key.
Immediatly after i went to the update tab and updates the prgram. Not the engine
and virus def.
It will display connection errors but afterwards it will begin to download on it
s own.

Forget this, I uninstalled it and installed OnlyByTheRain's torrent and it worke
d perfectly.
