Hello Ms. Singleterry

I trust all is well with you. We spoke a while ago after my colleague connected with Ms. Vanessa
Williams at the Connects Conference in August, 2012. At that time, I expressed an interest in
bidding on the NCBM Conference as our Mayor, Kevin Johnson is the incoming president. I know this
is short notice, but is there any possibility of bidding on either the 2014 or 2015 conferences? If so,
will you provide me any information or an RFP?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide me.

I went through the toolkit & made a list of tons of actions we could take in Sacramento for
our NCBM ACA Outreach Initiative.
It should be pretty easy for Corina (or whoever else gets involved in this over the next 6
months) to go down the list and start checking things off. All the links to relevant materials
and websites are right in the document.
I also drafted how we could maybe track our accomplishments -- just bullet pointing under
each category of the original commitment form and totalling the accomplishments next to the
category. I'll have to think more about how to make an easy form for other Mayors.

Talking Points: The Time For Compromise On Behalf Of The American People Is Now

Right now, the House of Representatives is still trying to pass a bill that is dead
on arrival in the Senate.

Rather than compromising for the sake of the country, the House GOP continues
to play politics with the full faith and credit of the United States -- even saying
that their strategy is to tell the country to ?take it or leave it? and blame the
President for default.

A short term debt limit increase would leave a cloud of uncertainty hanging over
our economy, which would make it less likely businesses will invest and hurt our
ability to grow.

Under the Boehner bill, we will be right back in this debate during the holiday
season, which is the most important time in the year for our economy.

Even Sen. Corker, a Republican from Tennessee, doesn?t think that?s a good idea.
During an interview this morning, he said he will continue to push for a plan that
instills confidence in the economy, rather than kick the can down the road and
force us to relive this crisis in just a few short months.
o ANCHOR: Considering everything we've seen this week on a vote on any
debt ceiling, do you want to go through this in six months?
SEN. CORKER: Well, I mean, I would love to see us -- and I've been sort of
urging this with my own caucus. I would love to see us go ahead and
achieve all the savings we can get right now. Again, I'd like, of course to
push it towards $4 trillion which is what the markets have kind of said we
need to do, but I do agree with the fact that, you know, having these
debates in the middle of an economic downturn that we're having right
now is not healthy, and there's no question that business people, those
people that hire employees across our country watch this and become
uncertain.

Once the vote is over and this political exercise ends, Speaker Boehner needs to
begin immediately working on a way out of the mess and come to a compromise

for the sake of the country.

##

The fact is, any solution to avoid default must be bipartisan. It must have the
support of both parties that were sent here to represent the American people ? not
just one faction.

Today, the President urged Democrats and Republicans in the Senate to find
common ground on a plan that can get support from both parties in the House ? a
plan the President can sign by Tuesday.

Congress needs to end the uncertainty surrounding the risk of default and put in
place a balanced approach to deficit reduction that phases in budget cuts, instills
confidence, and allows us to live w thin our means without shortchanging future
growth.

Congress needs to reach a compromise by Tuesday, or we will exhaust our

borrowing authority, leaving us running on fumes and at risk of defaulting on our
obligations for the first time in history. Only Congress can assure we can pay all
our bills on time -- bills that include monthly Social Security checks, veterans?
benefits, and the government contracts we?ve signed with thousands of
businesses.

For the first time ever, we could lose our country?s Triple A credit rating, not
because we didn?t have the capacity to pay our bills, but because we didn?t have a
Triple A political system to match.

For those who say they oppose tax increases on anyone, a lower credit rating
would result in a tax increase on everyone in the form of higher interest rates on
their mortgages, car loans, and credit cards.

The time for compromise on behalf of the American people is now. The President
is confident that common sense and cooler heads will prevail and we will solve
this problem on behalf of the American people.

Brad,
I just spoke with Mayor Johnson and he is pumped about PetSmarts involvement.
On NCBM, I refer you to Aaron Anderson (ccd), who is heading up formation of NCBMs Business Council. Aaron will follow up to assist
you in supporting and participating in NCBM.
Meanwhile, Mayor Johnson will follow up with USCM as we start to craft a program for USCMs Annual Meeting in June in Dallas. We will
be in touch shortly.
Thank you again for your time today and sharing your stories of PetSmarts leadership. Please let me know if you have any updates or
questions sooner than we get back to you.

Dear Mr. Kevin Johnson, Major of city of Sacramento:

I hope this email finds you well. I am reaching out to you to offer my services for the
upcoming World Conference of Black Mayors in Bermuda, 2014.
First of all, I would like congratulate you on your election as President of NCBM affirmed by
the Judge after the restitution of Mrs. Vanessa Williams. I am really looking forward to
perhaps working together soon.
Secondly, I would like to introduce myself. I am the Founder and CEO of Blended World
Group, LLC, a global multicultural consulting marketing firm in Chicago, IL.
(www.blendedworldgroup.com) Amongst my international projects, I was a key contributor
to the 3rd Global Summit of Black Majors last year in Colombia. I personally made possible
the presence and participation of Rev. Jesse Jackson in Cartagena, Colombia during the
Summit; and who was the main keynote speaker at the closing ceremony. Through me, Rev
Jackson was also able to participate/aid in the rescue of the US Marine kidnaped by the
Colombian guerrilla: (FARC). (http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/news/2013/10/02/jessejackson-picked-by-colombia-farc-to-facilitate-release-us-marine-held/)
Lastly, I would like to make you aware of my interest in participating again this year in the
World Conference of Black Mayors in Bermuda. I would like to set up time to discuss all my
fresh ideas and how I can contribute to it. Please let me know when and if this is possible. I
have copied in this email Rev. Jacksons chief of staff Mr. John Mitchell as my reference.

Looking forward to meeting/talking soon.
