I
have
several
observations
about
this
statement.
These
figures
are
unaudited.
The
annual
audit
of
the
fiscal
year
ended
June
30,
2015,
by
our
independent
auditor
takes
place
in
early
September
2015.
The
program
expenses
item
is
greatly
understated.
This
is
because
programs
havent
been
charged
for
the
related
salaries
and
overhead.
The
annual
excess
of
expenses
over
revenue
of
almost
$1million
per
year
obviously
cannot
continue.
The
solution
involves
several
things:
1.
Historically,
the
friary
accounting
records
and
the
Shrine
ministry
accounting
records
have
all
b een
in
one
set
of
books.
In
fact,
the
friary
and
Shrine
are
separate
legal
entities.
S tarting
July
1,
2015,
the
records
of
those
two
entities
will
be
kept
separately.
This
will
help
keep
each
entity
better
accountable.
2. On
M ay
6,
2015,
the
Shrine
had
a
significant
workforce
reduction.
Our
expected
savings
from
that
reduction
will
be
$700,000
annually.
3. We
have
already
seen
some
significant
savings
in
our
utility
bills
due
to
the
ongoing
volunteer
mechanical
overhaul
project.
Over
the
course
of
the
new
fiscal
year,
we
expect
those
savings
to
be
at
least
$100,000
annually.
4. Every
department
in
the
Shrine
organization
is
being
asked
to
find
ways
to
provide
existing
services
at
less
cost.
The
friars
and
the
employees
are
doing
a
terrific
job
in
this
regard.
We
will
continue
to
try
to
keep
you
up-to-date
on
finances
as
we
progress.
Also,
thank
you
so
much
for
your
generosity
toward
our
work.
Father
Phil
O'Shea,
OFM,
has
been
transferred
to
our
friary
in
Ringwood
NJ.
His
reassignment
is
because
they
are
better
staffed
and
equipped
to
care
for
his
health
needs
there.
He
joins
two
other
Arch
Street
friars,
Br.
Justus
Frazier,
OFM,
and
Fr.
Myron
M cCormick,
OFM.
There
are
also
about
20
other
friars
living
there.
Our
friary
in
Ringwood
is
a
very
good
skilled
nursing
home.
He
will
receive
very
good
care.
Feel
free
to
write
to
him
or
to
pass
his
address

For
many
years,
Fr.
Phil
was
a
very
popular

and
had
a
large

of
people
who
searched
him

to
celebrate
the

Before
he

Fr.
