Speaking 1

Second term

Introduction
It is well known that the goal of learning a language is the communication. Speaking is the
clearest evidence for a person to show that he/she had learned a language efficiently.
Hence, the oral production made by learners must be structured and with a purpose.
A very important issue that must be taken into consideration is that speaking is a skill
which cannot be developed individually by a single person. As previously mentioned
communication is the key factor involved in a language. How can we communicate with
others if there is not an interaction among individuals? It seems a difficult task trying to do
it alone.
This course, with the aid of the technology, will promote an active participation among the
students enrolled in this subject.
Teaching assistance
Follow the textbook and study the speaking activities. We will work primarily with free online tools such us; skype, voicethead, and youtube as well as web conference, I highly
advice you to sing up in the mentioned websites. Extra explanation on how to use these
tools will be provided as we advance in the subject.
