Queensland Commission of Audit the Commission was established in 2012 to
review the Queensland Governments financial position.
Qld Health Payroll System Commission of Inquiry to review the implementation of
the Qld Health payroll system. Led by the Honourable Richard Chesterman AO
RFD QC. Commenced on 1 February 2013 and concluded on 31 July 2013.Qld Racing Commission of Inquiry to review the operation of the former racing
control bodies in Qld under the former Labor Government. Led by the
Honourable Margaret White AO. Commenced on 1 July 2013 and concluded on
7 February 2014.
Police and Community Safety Review Mick Keelty commenced 2 January 2013;
report released September 2013. Review of Qld police and emergency
services.
Malone Review into Rural Fire Services Ted Malone - commenced December
2012; released 22 April 2013.
2012 review of the model work health and safety laws in Queensland undertaken by
Department of Justice and Attorney-General in consultation with employer
associations, unions and legal representatives.
Review of Government Air Services Queensland Government commenced
August 2012; released 13 September 2013 examination of options for the
effective and efficient delivery of Government fixed wing and helicopter
services.
Qld Child Protection Commission of Inquiry to review QLDs child protection
system. Led by the Honourable Tim Carmody QC. Commenced on 1 July 2012
and concluded on 1 July 2013.
Review of property law in Qld independent review of QLDs property laws to
reduce red tape, regulation and property law duplication. Conducted by
property law experts from the Queensland University of Technology.
Consultation closed on 30 January 2015.
ECQ Report on Inquiry into the Redcliffe by-election 2014 inquiry into the way the
Redcliffe by-election was conducted after a number of complaints about the
activity of political supporters at polling booths on the day of the by election was
received and reported in the media. Conducted by ECQ. Concluded April 2014.
Independent review of an incident involving Queensland Fire and Emergency
Services Employees Margaret Allison commenced 3 October 2014;
released 22 December 2014 review of the handling of sexual harassment and
workplace bullying complaints involving Queensland firefighters.

Inquiry into the Operation and Performance of the Queensland Building Services
Authority 2012 by the Transport, Housing and Local Government Committee. A
red tape reduction review of the property and motor dealers legislation.
Neighbourhood Disputes (Dividing Fences and Trees) Act 2011 (Qld) - On 27
October 2014, the former Attorney-General gave the Queensland Law Reform
Commission terms of reference to review the Neighbourhood Disputes
(Dividing Fences and Trees) Act 2011 (Qld).
Mandatory reporting requirements under the Child Protection Act 1999 (Qld) In
November 2014, former Attorney-General gave the Queensland Law Reform
Commission terms of reference to consider whether the mandatory reporting
requirements under the Child Protection Act 199 (Qld) should be expanded to
cover the early childhood education and care sector. Ongoing.
Religious and community organisation legislation review - In 2013, former AttorneyGeneral gave the Queensland Law Reform Commission terms of reference to
review 29 Acts relating to various religious and community organisations with a
view to recommending whether any of the Acts are obsolete or can be
consolidated.
Liquor and gaming industry red tape reduction expert panel and discussion paper
process undertaken by Attorney-General Bleijie discussion paper released
in February 2013.
Review of the Youth Justice Act 1992 undertaken by Department of Justice and
Attorney-General (Youth Justice) in 2012-13.
2012 review of the model work health and safety laws in Queensland undertaken by
Department of Justice and Attorney-General in consultation with employer
associations, unions and legal representatives.
Right of Private Practice Review - At the former Minister for Healths request, the
Auditor- General undertook a comprehensive audit of private practice
arrangements in the public healthcare sector.
Review of Health Services Information Agency (HSIA) services to HHSs under
contestability - Contestability process: to look at HSIA and the services it
provides to HHSs Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu engaged under agreement in
February 2013.
Review of HSIA - A review was undertaken of the departments Health Services
Information Agency to ensure that procurement processes were open and
transparent and the most appropriate governance arrangements are in place.

Contestability Reviews - Consistent with the policy direction of the previous
government, Queensland Health implemented a range of contestability service
delivery reviews to drive improved efficiency, effectiveness, safety and quality
and stimulate innovation across Queensland.

Review of the Structure and Legislative Framework for Hospitals Foundations - To


determine appropriate governance framework for Foundations undertaken by
Glenn Poole under agreement dated October 2012.
Review of Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) (administration) - A review PTSS
processes was undertaken by KM&T Asia Pacific.
Queensland Competition Authority Review of Medical Aids and Equipment Pricing
Review of RCH Herston site (previous government election commitment)
Palliative care services and home and community care services (Parliamentary
Committee Inquiry) - The inquiry was referred to the committee by the
Legislative Assembly on 7 June 2012.
Inquiry into telehealth services in Queensland - The Health and Community Services
Parliamentary Committee is inquiring into telehealth services in public sector
health services.
Review of the restrictive practices framework - the former Minister for Communities
and former Attorney-General reviewed the framework used by disability service
providers who support adults with intellectual and cognitive disability.
Review of Community Services legislation - following a review of DCCSDSs
community services legislation.
Great Barrier Reef Coastal Zone Strategic Assessment a strategic assessment of
the Great Barrier Reef coastal zone in accordance with the Environment
Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth).Terms of reference developed
in early 2012.
Fisheries Management Review undertaken by MRAG Asia Pacific in 2014.
Review of Springbrook Rescue buyback program an independent review by Minter
Ellison Lawyers, was ordered by the former Minister for National Parks in 2013.
National Parks estate review a review of all land within the national parks estate to
determine if protection level was suitable. Commenced in 2013.
Queensland Skills and Training Taskforce - established in June 2012.The Taskforce
delivered a report on actions to improve the operations and outcomes of
Queensland's VET sector.
Review of the Queensland systems of senior secondary assessment and reporting
and of tertiary entrance for students completing Year 12 - this project is
ongoing.
Inquiry into the Future and Continued Relevance of Government Land Tenure across
Queensland referred to the State Development, Infrastructure and Industry
Parliamentary Committee on 7 June 2012.

Review of the Queensland State Land System conducted with a view to reforming
the management and administration of state land. Ongoing.
Reform of Queenslands financial assurance system the former Government was
reviewing the system of financial assurance under the Environmental Protection
Act 1994. Discussion paper released in mid-2014.
Planning Healthcheck pilot project announced in April 2013 aims to drive cultural and
attitudinal change to create Australia's most efficient and effective planning and
development system.
Regional Planning Review announced in 2012.
South East QLD Regional Plan Review a review of the South East Queensland
Regional Plan 20092031. Commenced in 2013.
Infrastructure Charges Review a departmental review of the existing framework was
conducted in 2013 and 2014.
Government Land and Asset Management (GLAM) Transaction Policy in 2013 a
review was launched to determine how much land it owns and review the policy
governing land transactions to ensure real property-based assets are identified,
assessed and managed to their full potential
Coastal Plan in March 2012 the LNP government announced that it would undertake
a full review of the Queensland Coastal Plan, including State Planning Policy
3/11: Coastal Protection (SPP).
State Planning Policy a review of the States planning policies commenced in
December 2013.
Strategic Cropping Land Review in 2013, the LNP government commenced a review
of Strategic Cropping Land (SCL) policy which was introduced in 2012.
Urban Land Development Authority in the lead up to the recent Queensland State
election, the LNP made commitments to review the Urban Land Development
Authority and return planning powers, where appropriate, to local governments.

Rail freight use by the agriculture and livestock industries to inquire and report on
ways in which to incentivise the agriculture and livestock industries to use more

Inquiry into the Motorcycle Licensing Process in Queensland to review Queenslands
current motorcycle licensing process and its alignment with best practice
evidence-based approaches adopted in other Australian and international

Inquiry into coastal sea freight to inquire and report on the effect of coastal shipping
policy on the development of an efficient and productive multi-modal freight
