the future

is here!

The city of the future is a spacious and clean place, friendly

to its residents on various levels. Reduced air pollution and
low traffic intensity are key factors in improving the quality
of city life. To decrease the level of emissions and congestion
of streets, it is necessary to encourage car users to use public
transport more frequently.
We make this goal fully achievable by creating an attractive
alternative to private cars - Solaris MetroStyle vehicles.
The modern and elegant MetroStyle design is visually
attractive and it pleasantly introduces passengers into
the world of public transport.

Modern design,

full flexibility

MetroStyle vehicles will catch your eye with their futuristic

designcombining the latest trends from the bus and rail
industries. The front part of these vehicles is similar to the
well-known Solaris trams. The modern design reflects
functionality as the Solaris MetroStyle line incorporates the
best features of two types of public transport - the flexibility
of buses and the efficiency of trams.

New quality
in urban travel
The main goal of Solaris designers was to offer a unique
means of transport that will provide the passengers with
comfortable travel comparable to using private cars.
Many solutions were introduced to increase the comfort
of MetroStyle users but lighting is definitely the basic one.
Lamps installed in the ceiling, platforms and in air channel
hatches provide sufficient amount of warm, diffused light.
This light combined with elegant and delicate colours creates
a pleasing environment for passengers. An important element
of the bus equipment is the dynamic information system
for passengers, which includes LCD screens installed above
the doors. They display current information about the route,
stops and available change options, while the voice information
system complements the messages displayed. Air-conditioning
in the passenger area and in the drivers cab ensures
a comfortable journey in all conditions.

Comfort
at highest

standards

When designing MetroStyle vehicles, Solaris engineers applied

many innovative technical solutions. One of them is the so-called
super-single axle. The twin tyres that are usually mounted
on the second axle have been replaced by single tyres. Their
advantageous parameters helped to significantly widen the
aisle inside the vehicle.
MetroStyle models may be equipped with various drive types.
The first vehicles were equipped with a hybrid system
constructed by Allison Transmission. MetroStyle vehicles
may also be equipped with a traditional diesel engine or with
the environmentally-friendly electrical drive used in the popular
Trollino trolleybuses. All this features make our offer adjusted
to the needs of various customers.

Technical solutions tested in traditional models of Solaris Trollino

combined with a modern design make MetroStyle trolleybuses
highly appreciated both by passengers and transport companies
from the very beginning of their service. Like its predecessors,
the Trollino MetroStyle may be equipped with a diesel generator,
enabling it to operate without connection to the overhead line,
and with energy storage system that allows the trolleybus to operate
on short distances without external power supply, for example
on the route between the depot and the beginning of electric
traction. With new options of designing the exterior style
of vehicles, Solaris once again responds to customers needs.
The flexibility of this new product and its fully eco-friendly nature
meet the highest customer requirements with solutions that
have been so far unavailable in public transport.
