Isaiah 38:1-5 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death.

And
Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto
him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt
die, and not live. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and
prayed unto the LORD, And said, Remember now, O LORD, I
beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a
perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And
Hezekiah wept sore. Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah,
saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of
David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears:
behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

This is one example of a prayer that was answered. Hezekiah prayed

and God heard and answered his prayer. God gave him fifteen more
years to live. What would have happened if he hadn't prayed? I am
pretty sure that he would have died because God had sent the
Prophet to tell him of his fate. God probably knew that he would pray,
after all God does knows everything.

Jonah 2:7-10 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the

LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. They
that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. But I will sacrifice
unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have
vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. And the LORD spake unto the fish,
and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

Here is an example of another prayer, one that was prayed in a very

critical time in Jonah's life, that God answered. If He had not
answered this prayer Jonah would have perished. He was all alone in
a dark, slimmy, disgusting place, like a lot of us find ourselves in from
time to time. I have seen many people who were in bad situations,
like Jonah, but they didn't call out to God and, in not doing so,
perished. As Christians there should never be a time that we think
that we can't call out to God and get our prayers answered.

Acts 12:5-11 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was
made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when
Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was
sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the
keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the
Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote
Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And
his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird
thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto
him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out,
and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the
angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and
the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the
city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and
passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from
him. And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a
surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of
the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the
Jews.

Here is an example of an answered prayer when Peter was in prison.

The Church was in fervant prayer for Peter and I imagine that Peter
was also in prayer because of his situation and what he was facing.
God answered the prayer for Peter and he was delivered and did not
perish.

Jesus said..........

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer,

believing, ye shall receive.

John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask
what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

To those who abide in Jesus and to those who have His words
abiding in them, you can ask what you will and it shall be done unto
you. The question here is..........do you abide in Jesus and does His
words abide in you? I think that this might answer a lot of questions
about unanswered prayer. What do you think?
