HR Questions

1. Tell me about yourself?


Ans) I have a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in chemical engineering. Currently I am in
my final year of MSIT. As part of my MSIT course, I have undergone training in Soft
Skills by CNK online Pvt limited. I have a habit of self-learning and I am also a quick
learner. My hobbies include reading magazines like business world, developer IQ,
PC Quest etc. and watching movies.
In addition, I thoroughly enjoy working with group of people, and can establish rapport
with them easily.
My strengths: Time Management, Hard working, good in Analytical skills and
Problem solving skills
Weaknesses: Sometimes I Speak fast in English when give presentations and I
had a habit of taking liberty to give suggestions to other for their improvement
I have given numerous presentations over the past six months and have
already noticed a big improvement. Now I am trying to give suggestions to
my friends only.
I believe that I am very well suited to this position because I have related education, and
skill set coupled with my training in Soft Skills .I want to conclude about myself saying
that I not looking for a job in your company but I am looking at a career that your
company offers for an employee.
2. Why do you shift from a chemical engineer field to software?
Ans) First and Foremost I am interested in this field. Secondly I think this is one field
where your knowledge and work are valued more than other attributes like position or
designation. We will have an Opportunity to work on challenging problems. Rapid
growth, frequent updating & Attractive compensation pay packages are the other factors,
which I considered before shift to this field.
3. What preparation have you made before coming to the IT field?
Ans) As English is the common medium of instruction in any IT company, I have tried to
improve my oral and written skills. Also I have tried to inculcate the habit of learning and
unlearning things i.e. I do not want to stick to any specific and particular technology. I
have learnt to be flexible and adaptable.
4. What are your Hobbies?
Ans) watching movies and reading magazines like business world, developer IQ,
PC Quest etc.
5. What type of movies do you watch?
Ans) Mostly I watch entertainment movies and some of the technically sound movies like
movies of Ram Gopal varma and Mani Ratnam.
6. What are the magazines you read?
Ans) Business World and Developer IQ.

7. Who is the editor and what is the latest cover story of Business World?
Ans) Tony Joseph and Remaking Mumbai
8. How is your learning curve?
Ans) My learning curve is similar to a sine wave.
In 10 my % was 60.2 and in 10+2 it was 85.6. But in Engineering I got 58.56%. And in
my MS I have a CGPA of 8.5 which is an increase over my BE.
9. What kind of training are you expecting from us?
Ans) as I have learnt the basic languages like C, C++, and Java, I expect a training on
latest technologies used in your company along with hands on experience. Also I expect
continual skill development programs, tools enabling me to control the direction and
development of my career.

10. What are the latest technologies we are using according to you?
Ans) Java, J2EE, EJB and JSP (Java Server Pages)
11. What did your learned in Soft Skills training?
Ans) Leadership skills, Presentation Skills, Inter personnel skills, Time management,
Writing skills, Team Management, Stress management.
12. Why the curve in your academic is uneven?
Ans) In the Engineering I did not spend more time on study. In my PG Program MS
I have spending more time and the facilities (like Internet, opening lab till night) are more
here compare to the Andhra University so this is the result of my increase in percentage.
If you look over the last two years, you'll see that it has dramatically improved over that
time. As I got into this area of study, I became much more focused, and my marks reflect
this. The CGPA is therefore pulled up by my first year.
13. Which do you like better, Lions or Tigers?
Ans) I like Lions. They appear so majestic and are very sociable. To be honest, I think
that seeing The Lion King four times has probably contributed to this!
14. Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
Ans) In the first two years I will reach a position of the team leader and next one or two
year I will be in position of the module leader and In the fifth year I will be in position of
project leader.

15.Tell me about your project?


Ans) The purpose of our project is to fully automate the Accounts section in NIT,
Warangal. The sole aim of our project has been that the package should be user-friendly
and be possible to be operated upon by any staff in the Accounts section with minimum
computer knowledge.
The project is divided into two main modules:
1) Computation of net salary and
2) Generation of monthly reports.
The net salary computation is concerned with determining the gross pay and then
Subtracting any deductions (inclusive of loans) from it.
The monthly reports that are generated are:
Pay Bill Salary details of all employees
Abstract List Salary details of each account head
Pay Slip Generation of salary slip of each employee
Bank List List of employees getting payment through bank
Cash List - List of employees paid by cash
Head-wise List List of employees under a common head
16. Any Questions?
Ans) At some point in the interview, youll be asked if you have any questions. Count on
it. You look disinterested if you dont, so prepare specific questions for each interview.
Some of these questions can be general but others should reflect the research you did on
the company. You can always begin a question with the line, I noticed on your
website or Your annual report indicated that and then ask for an elaboration. The
point wont be missed.
