WORK EXPERIENCE
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
Seattle, WA
Statistical Research Associate I
2014 - 2015
Managed complex data sets and performed data cleaning and analysis of a multicenter prospective
study related to prostate cancer for multiple projects simultaneously.
Increased efficiency of existing procedures used to obtain variables for data analyses. Specifically,
optimized an existing procedure in SAS down from 15 minutes to 5 seconds.
Completed data analysis in a timely fashion involving linear mixed model and Cox proportional
hazards model.
Established validation and quality control routine to ensure accuracy of the data; generated
descriptive statistics to determine the appropriate method to apply.
Discussed model results and modification of methods with supervisors at weekly meetings;
presented analysis results to clinical investigators, communicated statistical concepts to
non-statisticians, draft reports and manuscripts for scientific journals (yet to be published).
Daily use of SAS and R.
University of Michigan- Biostatistics Department
Ann Arbor, MI
Graduate Student Research Assistant
2011 - 2013
Managed high frequency environmental data and performed exploratory analysis to reveal data
patterns for ease of future analysis.
Modeled association between ambient pollutants and cardiovascular endpoints by nested linear
mixed models in SAS and R for five manuscripts.
Contributed statistical analysis on large magnitude environmental data to explore the health
effects of air pollutants on human.
Prepared results for manuscripts, abstracts, and monitoring committee meetings to non-statisticians.
Daily use of SAS and R.
