SkillsActive get girls motivated


80 girls from secondary schools across the Sedgefield School
Sports Partnership were joined by elite athletes from the
worlds of boxing, football, swimming and skiing to discuss
how to get more girls involved in activities in school.
Motivating the girls was senior international boxer Amanda
Coulson, who boxed last week in the Women’s World
Championships, and spoke about her sporting experiences
and ambitions.

Mik Basi

England referee chosen for World Cup


Congratulations to Mik Basi, who was honoured as the top official at the
World Youth Championships in Guadelejara, Mexico, this year.
Mik was one of only three officials at the tournament that the
International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) has invited to officiate at
the Boxing World Cup in Moscow from 9th to 15th December.
