Option-1
You need to do research on any Indian project which has been completed in the last 2 or 3
years. You can also consider projects which are in an advanced stage of implementation.
The output of your research will be in the form of a case study which must provide a few
lessons for learners of Project Management.
The expected outline for the project:

Executive Summary (maximum one page)


Describe the project in brief and include various stakeholders (one page)
Describe some details pertaining to funding of the project, baseline
budget and time (one page)
Describe about the project organization, team composition, project
scope, implementation strategy and monitoring methods. (5 to 6 pages)
Can it be called a successful project? Was it a failure? Give reasons for
either case. You need to do a critical analysis. (1 to 2 pages)
What lessons one can learn from this case? (1 to 2 pages)

Please note that these are general guidelines. I am not looking for a project report with
seven points in the sequence listed above. Please feel free to add to or alter the above list
as best fits your project. The projects can be selected from any sector,e.g. Aviation,
Automobile,Cement,Chemicals,Coal,Construction,Pharma,Engineering,Food Processing,
Hospitals, Hotels, Infrastructure, Iron & Steel, IT/ITES, Paper, Ports, Power,
Roads/Highways, Waste Treatment, Water Treatment or Social sector etc.
Option-2
Write a brief note on managing startup projects. What are the special features of the
startup projects?
Select any startup project which has been launched in the last 2 years and do a detail
analysis from concept to launch of the project. What lessons one can learn from this case?
Option-3
Interview three project managers (one from infrastructure project and two from services
project) to understand the risk associated with such projects. How risk planning and
control is implemented in those organizations? Make a short audio-visual and prepare a
power point presentation to share your learning. No word document is needed for
Option-3

The report should be neatly typed (12 font size, single spacing) and should be
limited to 10-15 pages. You are advised to make use of graphs and diagrams to enhance
the visual impact of the context of your report.
Upload draft version of your report in the AIS by September 1, 2015
The final report must be uploaded in the AIS latest by September 15, 2015. Kindly do not
mail me your report.
NB:

Please keep a soft copy of the report with you till evaluation is
completed.
Reports having plagiarism above 7% will not be evaluated.
In case of late submission, one mark will be deducted for each
day of delay beyond the deadline.
