This is 12th grade students and this is their first class for today. Some students late and they
should give explanation about that and to punish them for been late, teacher is asking about the topic
for today, 10 minutes they are standing in the front of the door. But the teacher is not mad on them
because she understands that is coming prom night and they are preoccupied with that.
Section B: Teaching and learning procedures
Procedure (contents and participation

what is the topic of the day and that is the
text The gift of the day. They should
answer to the questions from the text and to

Teaching and learning activities
Teacher is asking questions about story, for
example if the story is recommended to
someone, is it interesting for them, what was
the story about, is it moral story, who are the
main characters, where did happen. There are
few of them that are interesting of the story
and just few of them are answering on the
questions.

Analysis, Evaluation, Recommendation

Reading and answering on the text force

students to use and pronunciation of certain
words and practice their target language.

Teacher asks easy and interesting questions

about the text; I can see that their attention is
concentrate on the text and they give good
answers of the question.

Closing
At the end of the class they have exercise In my opinion it is really efficient to keep the
including five pictures and they have to students involved in work until the last
match picture with the appropriate adjective. minute of the lesson.
For that exercise they have 5 minute. After
that they are writing the write answers on the
board.

Section C: Overall ratings of the lesson <include summaries of the objectives and contents of the
lesson>
This class start with reading one story called The gift of the Magi. The students take turns, and
while reading they ask in Bulgarian about pronunciation of certain words. After the text is read they
ask about certain unfamiliar words they have found in the text. The teacher tells them the translation
in Bulgarian and asks them then to explain the meaning of the word in English. This is a good way to
make students think and talk about some words. Then, they answer questions connected to the text for
example if the story is recommended to someone, is it interesting for them, what was the story about,
is it moral story, who are the main characters, where did happen.
They proceed with exercise including five pictures and they have to match picture with the
appropriate adjective. For that exercise they have 5 minute. After that they are writing the write
answers on the board.
The lesson ends with the assignment for homework.
Section D: Overall assessment of the quality of the lesson <is this a good lesson, why?>
I believe that this is a very good lesson since the teacher made almost all of the students work,
at least a little bit, but having in mind that this is 12 th grade which have as their only preoccupation the
prom night and in which university to enroll, this is great success
Section E: Recommendation <how can the efficacy of the lesson be improved?>
The only objection I have concerning this lesson is that teacher spends time to make the
students quiet and attentive. This time can be made much more useful by spending it for example for
talking exercise, which will improve students vocabulary and grammar skills, too.
