WebLogic Licenses?
Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 requires WebLogic Server Basic. This is a licenseconstrained version of WebLogic Server that is available in licenses for certain Oracle
products (OLD iASEE licenses). When Oracle Internet Application Server is licensed
independently of WebLogic Suite, a constrained WebLogic license, called WebLogic
Server Basic, is included.
WebLogic Server Basic is used in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 to support the
following features:

WLS Clusters. Specifically, one WLS cluster per EBS domain.

Hardware-based load-balancers in front of a WLS cluster in an EBS domain.

Use of the WLS proxy on an OHS server, directing load to one or more WLS instances
on one or more managed servers in a WLS Cluster. The cluster is defined by
AutoConfig via the configuration file deployed on the OHS server.

Session re-instantiation from one managed server to another managed server within
the same cluster. Although transactions in progress during failure of one managed
server will be lost, the user's session will be re-established and migrated to another
managed server in the cluster.

for Oracle E-Business Suite 12. The Premier Support end date for Oracle Application Server 10g does not apply

The R12.2 Upgrade can be as Simple or as Complex as
your Objectives and Environment dictate

Platform migration

Online Patching
1) Not Optional - Yet!
2) Three File Systems, fs1, fs2, and fs_ne
R12.2 allows one (run file system fs1) to be part of the running system,
while the other (patch file system fs2) is either being patched currently or
waiting to be patched during the next patching cycle
Fs1 and fs2 swap roles (dual file system)
The Non-Editioned File System(fs_ne) is used to store data that is
needed across all file systems
