BMC Software is releasing version 7.0.00 with fix pack 1 of the Control-M/CM for
SAP product. These release notes provide information about the enhancements and
resolved problems in this release. The information in this document supplements and
supersedes information in the Control-M/CM for SAP product manuals.
Up-to-date, essential installation and service information that becomes available after
this product is released will be placed under solution KA353341 in the Knowledge
Base on the Customer Support website, located at http://www.bmc.com/support.

The device description (device long name), as set in the SAP Logon client,
can now be viewed along with the device short name, type, and the message
when loading Output Device in the SAP Job Editing form in
Control-M/Desktop. This feature requires the installation of SAP support
package SAPKB70014 or later.

CAR00044332

Control-M/CM for SAP now supports SAP XBP3.0 Interception Profiles.


SAP Interception Profiles can now be viewed in the Extractor Management
utility and the active profile can be changed.
Notes:
SAP Interception (INITXBP2) and the SAP account definition must be
configured to XBP 3.0.
SAP Interception Profiles Criteria can be modified using transaction
"CRIT".

Job steps for Copy, External, and Original job types can now be viewed in
the SAP Job Editing form in Control-M/Desktop by clicking View Job
Steps.

Corrected problems
Table 2 describes the problems that were reported in earlier releases of
Control-M/CM for SAP that have been corrected in this release. The list of corrected
problems is also available under solution KA353342 in the Knowledge Base.

This procedure describes how to obtain the Control-M/CM for SAP version 7.0.00 fix
pack 1 installation files through EPD.

To obtain installation files through EPD


1 Click https://webapps.bmc.com/epd/ and follow the instructions on the EPD site
until you reach the Download Files page.

2 Download the installation files using one of the following methods:

Complete installation: Download and save the iso file to a temporary directory

and then burn it onto a DVD.

UNIX:

Download and save the relevant file according to your operating system to a
temporary directory.
Additional installation files for the Control-M Control Module Plugin,
Control-M/EM Forms, Transports, and Find and Update support are included
in the PARMC.7.0.00.100_COMMON.zip file. Download this zip file to a Windows
computer and then extract the additional installation files to a temporary
location.
The Control-M/EM Forms must be extracted from the FORMS.exe selfextracting file.

Windows:

Download and save the relevant zip file according to your operating system to a
temporary directory.
The Control-M/EM Forms must be extracted from the FORMS.exe selfextracting file.

Obtaining installation files through FTP

Obtaining installation files through FTP


This procedure describes how to obtain the Control-M/CM for SAP version
6.4.01 fix pack 1 installation files through FTP.

To obtain installation files through FTP


1 Download the installation files from the following location:
ftp://ftp.bmc.com/pub/control-m/opensystem/CONTROLM_CM_for_SAP/7.0.00/PARMC.7.0.00.100/

2 Log on as a Control-M/Agent user and create a temporary directory (for example,


TEMP_INST_DIR).

3 Copy the required files, as follows:


UNIX: Copy the PARMC.7.0.00.100_<platform>.INSTALL.BIN files that are
relevant to your UNIX system in binary mode from the FTP site to the
temporary directory that you created.
Windows: Copy the PARMC.7.0.00.100_<Windows_platform>.exe file that is
relevant to your Windows system from the FTP site to the temporary directory
that you created.

4 Type the following command for each copied installation file to ensure that the fix
pack installation has the necessary authorizations (UNIX only):
chmod +x <installation_file>

This procedure describes how to install fix pack 1 (PARMC.7.0.00.100) on a UNIX
computer.

Before you begin


Ensure that no Control-M jobs are running.

To install fix pack 1 on UNIX


1 Log on as the Control-M/Agent user and stop Control-M/Agent by running the
following command:
<Control-M Agent directory>/scripts/shut-ag -u <agentUser> -p all

NOTE
If the Control-M/Agent was installed with user root, then log on as user root every time
you start up or shut down the Control-M/Agent throughout this procedure.

Installing fix pack 1 (PARMC.7.0.00.100) on UNIX

If you are using an AIX operating system, you must remove unused libraries from
memory by running the following command:
/usr/sbin/slibclean

2 Stop the Control-M/CM for SAP Extractor process if used, using the following
command:
shut-xt

3 Stop the Control-M/CM for SAP process, using the following command from the
$CONTROLM/cm/SAP/exe directory:
sapcmbe.sh stop

4 Mount the installation DVD (see Product distribution on page 6) and navigate to
the Unix directory.

5 Install the fix pack using one of the following methods:

To perform an interactive installation, type the following command and then


press Y:
<DVD>/Unix/setup.sh

To perform a silent installation, type the following command:


<DVD>/Unix/setup.sh -s

NOTE
You can change the directory location where the temporary installation files are extracted. For
example, when there is insufficient disk space in the /tmp directory.
You can use the following sample path to extract the files to another directory:
<cdmount>/Unix/setup.sh -d <location>
The <location> variable is the required location.

6 Start the Control-M/Agent processes.


7 Start the Control-M/CM for SAP Extractor process, if needed, using the following
command:
start-xt

Continue with Installation on Control-M/EM on page 13.

This procedure describes how to install fix pack 1 (PARMC.7.0.00.100) on a Windows
computer.

Before you begin


Ensure that no Control-M jobs are running.

To install fix pack 1 on Windows


1 Log on to the computer with a user ID that has Administrator privileges.
2 Stop the Control-M/CM for SAP Extractor service, if used.
3 Stop the Control-M/CM for SAP process using the following command from the
<Agent_home>\cm\SAP\exe directory:
sapcmbe stop

4 Insert the installation DVD (see Product distribution on page 6) and navigate to
the Windows directory.

5 Install the fix pack using one of the following methods:

To perform an interactive installation, double-click the


PARMC.7.0.00.100_<Windows_platform>.exe file and continue with the
installation wizard, following the on-screen instructions until the completion of
the installation.
Go to step 6.

To perform a silent installation, open a command line and do the following:


1. Extract the fix pack files by typing the following command:
PARMC.7.0.00.100_<Windows_platform>.exe -e

NOTE
By default the files are extracted to %temp%. You can use -d<extractPath> to extract the
files to another directory. Ensure that there is no space between -d and <extractPath>.
Otherwise, the fix pack files are extracted to the default location: %temp%.

Uninstalling PARMC.7.0.00.100 from UNIX

NOTE
If you are using Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008, run the silent
installation from a command prompt that was opened with administrator privileges.

2. Navigate to %temp%\<PARMC.7.0.00.100> and type the following command:


silent.bat -i <agent_instance_name>

6 To view the installation log, click the link provided in the installation screen or
open the trace.log file at the following location:
<CONTROL-M Agent_directory>\Default\install\PARMC.7.0.00.100\trace.log

7 Click Finish.
8 Start the Control-M/CM for SAP Extractor service, if used.
Continue with Installation on Control-M/EM on page 13.

Uninstalling PARMC.7.0.00.100 from UNIX


This procedure describes how to uninstall fix pack 1 from UNIX computers.

Before you begin


Ensure that no Control-M jobs are running.

To uninstall PARMC.7.0.00.100 from UNIX


1 Stop the Control-M/Agent processes
2 Stop the Control-M/CM for SAP Extractor process if used, using the following
command:
shut-xt

3 Stop the Control-M/CM for SAP process, using the following command from the
$CONTROLM/cm/SAP/exe directory:
sapcmbe.sh stop

4 Uninstall the fix pack by running the following file:


$CONTROLM/patches/PARMC.7.0.00.100/unInstall_PARMC.7.0.00.100.sh

5 Start the Control-M/Agent processes.

This procedure describes how to uninstall fix pack 1 (PARMC.7.0.00.100) from
Windows computers.

Before you begin


Ensure that no Control-M jobs are running.

To uninstall PARMC.7.0.00.100 from Windows


1 Log on to the computer using a user ID that has Administrator privileges.
2 Stop the Control-M/CM for SAP Extractor service, if used.
3 Stop the Control-M/CM for SAP process using the following command from the
<Agent_home>\cm\SAP\exe directory:
sapcmbe stop

4 Uninstall the fix pack by using one of the following methods:

To perform an interactive uninstall, do the following:


1. From the Start menu, select Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Control-M
Control Module for SAP 7.0.00 fix pack 1.

2. Select Remove.

To perform a silent uninstall, do the following:


1. Navigate to the following directory:
<CONTROL-M/ Agent_ directory>\<agent_instance_name>\install\PARMC.7.0.00.100\

If you are using Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008, run the silent

5 Start the Control-M/CM for SAP Extractor service, if used.

Installation on Control-M/EM
The following procedures describes how to install Control-M/CM for SAP on
Control-M/EM and must be done in the following order:
1. Importing the SAP form on page 13
2. Do one of the following:

Installing the server plug-in on the Control-M/EM server (UNIX) on page 14

Installing the server plug-in on the Control-M/EM server (Windows) on


page 15

3. Installing the client plug-in on the Control-M Configuration Manager on page 16

Importing the SAP form


This procedure describes how to import the SAP form, which enables you to define
SAP jobs in the Job Editing form in Control-M/Desktop.

Before you begin


Ensure that you have met the following requirements:

Ensure that either:


the Control-M/CM for SAP LPRMC.7.0.00 DVD with fix pack 1 is mounted or
easily accessible through your network
the PARMC.7.0.00.100_COMMON.zip self-extracting file downloaded from the
BMC EPD site has been extracted into a temporary directory and is easily
accessible through your network

If the Control-M/EM client is earlier than version 7.0.00.200, and you are using
Windows Vista, Windows 2008 or Windows 7, up-to-date, essential installation
and service information that becomes available after this product is released will
be placed under solution KA329810 in the Knowledge Base on the Customer
Support website, located at http://www.bmc.com/support.
Before you import the SAP form, BMC recommends that you check the website for
any up-to-date information and also to determine whether recent patches are
available for this product.

To import the SAP form


1 In Control-M/Desktop, select Tools => Import Applications Forms.
2 Navigate to either:

the Forms directory on the installation DVD


the temporary directory where the PARMC.7.0.00.100_COMMON.zip was
extracted

3 Select the SAP1.xml, SAP_DA.xml, and SAP_BW.xml files, and click Import.
4 Shut down Control-M/EM GUI, and then restart it.

Installing the server plug-in on the Control-M/EM server


(UNIX)
This procedure describes how to install the Control-M/CM for SAP plug-in on the
Control-M/EM server UNIX computer, which enables you to manage SAP utilities.

Before you begin


Ensure that you have met the following requirements:

1 Log on to the account where Control-M/EM server is installed.
2 Navigate to either:

the <dvd_path>/CCM/EM_Server/UNIX directory


the temporary directory where the PARMC.7.0.00.100_COMMON.zip was
extracted

3 Run the following command and follow the installation instructions provided:
Install_EM_Server_SAP_Plugin.sh

4 Run the following commands to restart Control-M Configuration Server:

stop_cms

start_cms

Installing the server plug-in on the Control-M/EM server


(Windows)
This procedure describes how to install Control-M/CM for SAP plug-in on the
Control-M/EM server Windows computer, which enables you to manage SAP
utilities.

Before you begin


Ensure that you have met the following requirements:

To install the server plug-in on the Control-M/EM server


1 Log on as a user with administrator privileges on the specific Control-M/EM
server computer.

2 Ensure that the Control-M Configuration Manager is closed.


3 Navigate to either:

the <dvd_path>\CCM directory


the temporary directory where the PARMC.7.0.00.100_COMMON.zip was
extracted

If you are not using Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 2008, continue with
step 7.

4 Copy or map the EM_Server directory and its subdirectories and files to your local
disk.

5 Open a command line (CMD.EXE) using Run as administrator.


6 Change the directory to:
<copied_location>\EM_Server\WINDOWS

7 From the command line, run the following file and follow the installation
instructions provided:
Install_EM_Server_SAP_Plugin.cmd

8 Restart the Control-M Configuration Server service.


The plug-in is installed.

Installing the client plug-in on the Control-M Configuration


Manager
This procedure describes how to install the Control-M/CM for SAP client plug-in on
the Control-M Configuration Manager on a Control-M/EM client computer which
enables you to manage SAP utilities.

Before you begin


Ensure that you have met the following requirements:
