begin to highlight the problems Dalits, where to find them. Thirty volunteer leaders
of the 30 districts of Tamil Nadu to jointly coordinate and take this movement at the
base. This movement is open to Dalit women, their issues and atrocities, where the
movement is fighting for the rights and justice could intervene. This movement is
active in 16 districts of Tamil Nadu and take the issues of violence against Dalits,
the untouchables practices, discrimination, atrocities committed against them and
denying the existence of rights. Tamil Forum Nadu Womens (TNWF) is a state level
of imitation for womens rights and gender equality. TNWF was launched in 1991 to
educate women for greater leadership to strengthen the womens movement and
build a strong movement of people. This movement is also working with some of the
parties as Dalits siruthaigal Viduthalai (Dalit Panthers of India-CIO). However, it
seems that the transformation of the Department of Information from a political
movement, a party led to a dramatic dilution of their radicalism. It is important that
the Dalit women, despite their very active participation in politics, lack of respect
and recognition continues even within the Dalit movement. When the Parliament of
the Constitution (adopted 73) Amendment Act 1993 was hailed as a step forward in
the realization of a dynamic system of participatory democracy at the base and a
paradigm shift in the development process, for the first time in statutory reserve of
elected posts in local bodies for women, other castes (Dalits) and Scheduled Tribes
Annex. Hindu caste leaders challenged the reservation of the selected service in
community facilities to the Dalits. In Elections have been prevented from filing
nominations Dalits in several villages where panchayats were reserved for the
president to send them. A large number of elected women and Dalit Panchayat
presidents suffered humiliation on the part of vice-president and co- members and
representatives of government itself. For most rural women and Dalits which these
bodies were elected for the first time, it was hard work. The womens movement
against poverty and violence (MAPOVI), the Women body MAPOVI womens
organizations and grass roots associations across Tamil Nadu coordinated. Grass
Root Women are members of these organizations by participating in a Sangam in
their village in the respective districts. In pursuit different associations of village
development has become a local force for radical social and political change in the
role of women. Each association has been to the efforts of NGOs, the fear that
empowering women can believe in the Total empowerment of organized society.
Federation established their own leaders and their Federation to lead these women
have become empowered to act as role models and leadership in other women. As a
result of their awareness as well as Many organizations, linked together to find
solutions to common problems, especially problems of poverty and violence. Many
campaigns coordinated and joint actions of women MAPOVI public and social
problems they had fought to take poverty and violence among women. Movement
has succeeded on many issues through various measures lobby. For example, the
public meeting and rally in Tamil Nadu anti-alcohol movement (TALM) in 5
Aundipatti made. 02. 2002 against the introduction of liquor from the state of Tamil
Nadu has certainly strengthened the movement. As the noisy protest of women,
government and political parties is reached and they are immune to alcohol in Tamil
Nadu during April 2002. Finally, the Dalit women, despite their very active
participation in politics, lack of respect and recognition continues even within the
Dalit movement. While there are organizational some women fighting for the rights
of Dalits and Dalit women, they united in a movement of Dalit women without
strong political support, including their political parties Dalit uprising. However, the
movement of Dalit women in Tamil Nadu have important role in the Tamil Nadu
Forum for Women and with the support of Dalit parties against all forms of
discrimination and their rights. It seems that there is positive developments in the
empowerment of Dalit women in Tamil Nadu , albeit slowly. notes1. VB Rawat, the
