GeneralInstructionsforGATEApplicants

Foronlineapplication,PleaseuseonlyInternetExplorer9&aboveversion.

1. ThereisasingleonlineregistrationportalforcandidatesapplyingonlineforbothGATE2015basedandCBT
basedposts.

2. Allapplicantshavetoregisteronlineonlyandfillintheirdetailsintheonlineapplicationform.

3. Aregistrationslipwillbegeneratedonsuccessfulregistration.Takeaprintoutofthisregistrationslipandkeep
itinasafeplace.Printoutofregistrationslipshouldnotbetamperedwith.Incaseofanyoverwritingor
tamperingofRegistrationslip,thecandidatureofthecandidateshallberejected.Northeprintoutofthe
RegistrationSlipneithertheBankChallanisrequiredtosendthroughpost.

4. EMailandSMSwillalsobesentattheregisteredEMailIDaswellasonthemobileno.intimatingthatyou
haveregisteredsuccessfully.CandidatesarealsoadvisedtochecktheSPAMfolder,incasethemailisnot
appearingintheinbox.

5. DocumentsRequiredbeforeRegistration
a)GATE2015AdmitCard[OnlyForPostsadvertisedinAdvertisementNo.5/2014(R&P)]
b)Activeemailidandmobileno.(ForAllPosts)
c)Scannedcopyofyourphotographandsignaturewhereasthesignatureismadejustbelowthe
photograph(notmorethan70kb,jpgorjpegformatonly)(ForAllPosts)

6. Registeredcandidatecanalsoviewhis/herdatabyreloginusingcombinationofhisONGCRegistrationID,
dateofbirthandemailID.Afterloggingin,hecanalsotakeaprintoutofhisregistrationslip.

7. IfapplyingforGATE2015basedpostsandenteredthewrongEmailID/Address/DateofBirth/Phone
numberoranyotherdetails,youcanenteryourdetailsagainbyusingthesameGATE2015Registration
numberGATEEnrollmentIDbutwithdifferentEmailID.Themostrecentapplicationwithsame
registrationnumber&enrolmentidwillbetakenintoconsideration.

8. Wherevertheuniversitydoesnotgivepercentageandonlygiveslettergrades/CGPA/OGPAetc.,thesame
hastobeconvertedinto%asperconversionformulaappliedbytheInstitute/Universityforawardingclass/
division.

9. Ifnovacancyisavailablefortheselectedreservedcategoryinparticularpost,he/shecanstillapplyforthe
postbyclickingUnreserved(UR)asappliedcategory,butnoagerelaxationwillbeapplicable.

10. Allcandidates,havingnationalityotherthanCitizenofIndia,willberequiredtoproducecertificateofeligibility
issuedbytheGovernmentofIndia.

11. OnlineapplicationvalidationrulesaredesignedbasedontheAdvertisementrequirement.Candidatesare
advisedtoreadtheadvertisementcarefullyandreferFAQs".ApplicationsubmittedthroughOnLineform
doesnotimplythatcandidatehasfulfilledallthecriteriaintheadvertisementandApplicationissubjectto
subsequentscrutinyandthecandidaturecanberejectediffoundtobeineligibleatanypointoftime.

preferablywhitebackground.Ifthepictureistakenonasunnyday,havethesunbehindyou,orplaceyourself

(3)Theentireimagedimension(3.5cmby6.0cm)consistingofthephotoalongwiththesignatureisrequired
tobescannedandstoredin(*.jpeg,*.jpg)formatonlocalmachine.

(4)Ensurethatthesizeofthescannedimageisnotmorethan70KB.

(5)Ifthesizeofthefileismorethan70KB,thenadjustthesettingsofthescannersuchastheDPIresolution,
no.ofcoloursetc.,duringtheprocessofscanning.

(6)Theapplicanthastosigninfullintheboxprovided.Sincethesignatureisproofofidentity,itmustbe
genuineandinfullinitialsarenotsufficient.SignatureinCAPITALLETTERSisnotpermitted.

(7)Thesignaturemustbesignedonlybytheapplicantandnotbyanyotherperson.

(8)ThesignaturewillbeusedtoputontheAdmitCard/HallTicket/InterviewCallLetterandwherever
necessary.IftheApplicantssignatureatanypointoftimeoftheselectionprocess,doesnotmatch,the
candidatureofthecandidatewillbedisqualified.
