What is Metro Women’s Center?
Metro Women’s Center is a non-profit Christian
pregnancy resource center in Crystal, MN. We exist to
educate the community about pregnancy alternatives so
life-affirming decisions can be made concerning the
outcomes of pregnancies. Since 1990 MWC has been
providing a compassionate Christian response to the
needs of men and women confronted with unplanned
pregnancies. For more information visit our website at

Why have an Amazing Grace Walk?
Your support will provide shelter in a time of
storm for pregnant women! Through your efforts
to raise funds by asking your friends, family, and
co-workers, you can help MWC establish the
Amazing Grace Home — a safe, Christ-centered
home for pregnant women in Minnesota.
How far do I have to walk?
The walk is a short one-mile, family-fun stroll. You
will be asking individuals to sponsor you for your
participation in the event instead of sponsorships
on a per-mile basis. Participants may go further if they
are so inclined!
Do I have to collect my sponsors’ pledges myself?
Yes, we ask you to collect the pledges at the time you
request individuals to sponsor you. At registration, on the
day of the walk, please turn in your pledge forms and any
money you have collected. Please make sure the address
section is complete for each of your sponsors so we can
properly thank them for their support. If you choose to
use the on-line fundraising system, your sponsors will be
able to contribute on-line.
What if I can’t be there the day of the walk?
No problem! You can walk on your own in your favorite
park or indoor space and mail your sponsor form and
pledges to our Crystal office by May 15th.
What if it rains?
We will walk rain or shine.
Raising pledges
You can set a personal goal of $150 to earn an Amazing Grace Walk
T-shirt. Raise $300 and also earn a Hoodie sweatshirt. Commit to asking
one person each day, or set aside 15 minutes each week to ask for
pledges. Use email, fax, social networking systems, and our on-line
fundraising system. Contact out-of-town friends and family, post your
pledge form at work, or connect with people in your church.
ON-LINE
FUNDRAISING
Eliminate the paper sponsor form and collect all your pledges on-line. Through
the FirstGiving system, walkers can easily create their own webpages and
invite sponsors to pledge on-line. Each walker will have the ability to upload a
picture and add his/her fundraising goal and a personalized message. Walkers
can then email their webpages directly to their friends, family, and co-workers.
Sponsors make their pledges directly through the webpage and can pay
immediately. Walkers will also be able to send email reminders directly
from the on-line system.

$500 in 10 days
Day 1: Sponsor yourself for $50.
Day 2: Ask 2 family members to sponsor you for $25.
Day 3: Ask 4 friends to sponsor you for $20.
Day 4: Ask 5 co-workers to sponsor you for $20.
Day 5: Ask 4 neighbors to sponsor you for $10.
Day 6: Ask 5 people from your church to sponsor you for $10.
Day 7: Ask 3 local merchants to sponsor you for $20.
Day 8: Ask 2 businesses you frequent to sponsor you for $25.
Day 9: Ask your employer to sponsor you for $20 (or to match
what you raise!).
Day 10: Take a break, praise the Lord, and pray for the people
who were kind enough to support you in this project!
