1 Background
Indonesia is a country rich in natural resources. Countries
shaped islands makes Indonesia landless fertile water so
that it becomes a high-potential direction for all
individuals, whether humans, animals and plants to be
well managed and utilized properly. Shaped island state is
also making Indonesia dubbed as an agricultural country,
which is a country rich with potential diversity of useful
plants. Indonesia is a country rich in tropical starch crops
such as cassava, sweet potato, taro, corn, sago and
others.
Banana plants are soft-stemmed plants with high trunk
capable of up to 4 m, broadleaf the type of root fibers.
Almost every part of this plant can be used. Starting from
the stems, leaves, fruit, heart (flower), even the cob.
Banana fruit tastes sweet and soft texture. Suitable eaten
by a variety of ages. Can be eaten or processed into
other processed. Wide leaves can be used as container or
wrapper of processed foods, as well as decorations.
Sometimes there is utilize as food wrappers using dried
banana leaves. Soft stems can be used as decoration,
planting media, fodder and others. Before bananas are
really old, no spring flower bud resembles a heart, called
cardiac bananas. Some of these banana varieties exist
that could be used as a vegetable that has high taste,
there is also a process into shredded. Banana weevil is
part of the plant that is buried in the ground where the
discharge of roots. The hump can be used as chips
banana weevil, shredded banana weevil, and flour
banana weevil.

Of the many benefits of any piece of banana plants, we

tend to only mamanfaatkan fruit alone. We grow and
harvest the fruit without the benefit of other parts. And if
we do not manfaatkannya would be waste or be
detrimental to animal nest. Therefore, the idea arose
weeks to maximize yields of banana plants, especially the
most rarely used cob.
1.2 Problem Formulation
a. How to influence the reaction time for glucose resulting
from the hydrolysis process banana weevil?
b. How does The concentration of solvent to glucose
resulting from hydrolysis process banana weevil?
1.3 Limitation Problem
a. Researchers only compare the effect of reaction time
and solvents The concentration of the glucose levels in
the banana weevil
b. Weevil banana plant tuber crops studied is kepok
banana (Musa Paradisiaca)
c. Flour banana weevil is not specified scale meshnya
d. The solvent used is a solvent HCL The concentration
variation is 0.4 N, 0.6 N and 0.8 N
e. Variations hydrolysis time is 20 minutes, 25 minutes
and 30 minutes after boiling
f. Hydrolysis process used did not consider the rotation
speed stirrer
g. Room temperature practicum ignored
h. Not using the average volume of filtrate

1.4 Research Objectives

The aim of this study is:
a. Analyzing glucose levels in the banana weevil by
means of hydrolysis
b. Knowing the influence of reaction time and The
concentration of solvent to the content of glucose from
the hydrolysis of banana weevil
c. Utilizing the banana weevil crop waste into products
that have selling power
1.5 Benefits Research
The benefits of this research are:
a. Making waste banana weevil as economically valuable
goods
b. Contribute useful knowledge as reference further
research
