Question 4
Read the article below.
Most teenagers need about 8 to 9 hours of sleep each night. Getting the right amount of
sleep is essential for everyone especially teenagers. However, one in four teens has trouble
sleeping. During adolescence, the bodys biological clock is reset, changing a teenagers sleeping
patterns. Experts say that this change seems to be due to the fact that the brain hormone;
melatonin is produced later at night. So, teenagers have a harder time falling asleep.
For most teenagers, the pressure to do well is more, compared to when they were kids. It is
harder to succeed without studying hard. Teenagers also have other time demands like sports or
extracurricular activities. Lack of sleep can affect everything: ability to pay attention in class, mood
changes, sports performance, increase chances of getting sick, and weight gain.
How can you get a good sleep? Here are some ideas. You can be active during the day.
Have you noticed how much running around little kids do and how soundly they sleep? Take a tip
from a toddler and get at least 60 minutes of exercise a day. Physical activity during the day could
be the key to a better nights sleep. Dont do workouts too close to bedtime.
Say goodnight to electronic gadgets. Experts recommend using the bedroom for sleep only.
If you cant make your bedroom a tech-free zone, at least shut everything down an hour or more
before lights out. Cut-off from your gadget will help you to get enough sleep and allow your brain
some tech-free time.
Keep a sleep routine by going to bed at the same time every night. In a way, this helps the
body to expect sleep. Creating a set bedtime routine can enhance this relaxation effect. So, unwind
every night by reading, listening to music, spending time with pet, writing a journal, playing Sudoku
or doing anything else that relaxes you.
Teenager should expect a good nights sleep. Stress can trigger insomnia, so the more you
worry about not sleeping, the greater the risk you will lie awake staring at the ceiling. Instead of
worrying that you wont sleep, remind yourself that you can. Say, Tonight, I will sleep well, several
times during the day.

I WONDER
I wonder why the grass is green,
And why the wind is never seen?
Who taught the birds to build a nest,
And told the trees to take a rest?
O, when the moon is not quite round,
Where can the missing bit be found?
Who lights the stars, when they blow out,
And makes the lightning flash about?
Who paints the rainbow in the sky,
And hangs the fluffy clouds so high?
Why is it now, do you suppose,
That Dad wont tell me, if he knows?
