CHAPTER V

ANALYSIS, PRESENTATION AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA SOCIO ECONOMIC


IMPACT

The purpose of this chapter is to determine the Socio Economic Impact of the
Proposed three storey school building with twelve classrooms in Daraga National High
School, Daraga, Albay. This chapter tackles the advantages of the project to the
associating components; the community and the school. This also includes the reactions
of the school head and the constituents of the community in accordance with the
questions asked by the proponents
Socio-economic impact assessment focuses on evaluating the impacts
development has on community social and economic well-being. This analysis relies on
both

quantitative

and

qualitative

measures

of

impacts.

Assessing

proposed

developments in a socio-economic context will help community leaders and residents


identify potential social equity issues, evaluate the adequacy of social services and
determine whether the project may adversely affect overall social well-being.

Data
A survey was gathered by the proponents to one hundred students as the
representing body.
Question: Do you need additional classrooms?

ANSWER

YES

NO

Based on the survey, 67% of the respondents say yes. These persons testify that
they are experiencing overcrowding in their classrooms affecting study habits. They also
assumed that this overcrowding causes higher temperature inside the classroom. On the
other hand, 33% of the respondents say no. These persons are saying that they are
contented of what the school and government can give.

Question: Do you need additional rooms for science laboratory works and study rooms?

Based on the survey, 70% of the respondents say no. These persons said that
most of the laboratory works are done at home or done in classroom but be continued at
their home. They added that instead of laboratory rooms, the administration should
provide additional classrooms. Otherwise, 30% of the respondents say yes. These
persons testify that they need laboratory rooms and study rooms for them to be more
competitive and more generalized in their fields.

The proponents also ask the school head the following, given the answer
thereafter.

Question: Do your school in need of classrooms? Why or why not?


Answer: We really need classrooms. Actually there are almost 70 students per
classroom. By adding classrooms to our school grounds we can consider 60 students
per classroom or even 50 students per classroom as the situation may be.

Question: How the teachers handle over this number?


Answer: They just teach and give some group works and home works. By these
strategies the students can learn by their own hardworking. In some case, teachers
suffer too much noise from these overcrowding issues inside the classroom making
them sick for few days.

Generalization
From the data gathered, it is observed that Daraga National High School, its
faculties, students and constituents of the community accepted the aspect of the project.
They have the same perspective with the project, base from the this will help the
community in different ways. The only problem in the project is the source of fund, this
can be from a private sector or from the government.
