Appendix A – Teams to Keep for reference

25th CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP SPORTS FESTIVAL 2008

GENERAL RULES

Date : 14 June 2008 (Saturday)

Time : 8.00am – 5.00pm.

1. General Rules and Regulations

The rules and regulations of the respective Sports Associations shall be used unless stipulated
otherwise.

2. Composition

A Team Manager shall manage the team and be fully responsible for the discipline of the team
and of the field during the period of the games.

The line-up of the team of registered players shall be confirmed with the Referee/Coordinator 15
minutes before the matches start. Once this has been no further substitution is allowed.

3. Eligibility

All participants must be bona fide members or congregation at registered Churches/Christian


Organizations. Only registered players will be permitted to participate in the games.

4. Registration

All Churches/Christian Organizations must register their players in the Official Registration Form
together with their NRIC number. Please refer to the Mode of Play (Appendix B) before
completing the Registration Form (Appendix C)

5. Attire

All teams who are interested in participating in the games must be in proper attire. Each team
must have an alternative-coloured/white jersey set to avoid clash of colours.

6. Reporting Times

All teams must report 30 minutes before the start of each game. Any team reporting late will
be disqualified for the game.

A grace period of only five (5) minutes will be allowed when the teams are called by the referee to
be on the field/court. Failing this, a walkover will be given to the non-defaulting team.

7. Teams/Players Obligations

The Manager/Captain is responsible for keeping his/her team informed where and when to play.
Any team which fails to appear at the scheduled times will automatically lose the match after a 5
minutes waiting period.

8. System of Play

The games/fixtures will be played either on a round-robin or knockout system. This will also
depend on the number of entries received by the closing date.

9. Food and refreshment

Each Church/Christian Organization shall be responsible for their teams’ food and refreshments.

10. Use of Drugs

Any player who is found under the influence of liquor or any drugs will be barred from the whole
sports and there will be no refund of the participation fees.

11. Disqualification

Any team found cheating or of gross indiscipline will be barred from the sports and there will be
no refund of the participation fees.

12. Decision

The referee’s/umpire’s decision in all games shall be final and binding. No appeal/protest will be
entertained.

13. Participation Fees

a) Registration Fee per Church/Organization - RM 50.00


b) Participation Fee per game - RM 60.00
c) Participation Fee for Street Soccer - RM 100.00

14. Prizes

Only 1st and 2nd prize winners will be awarded.

15. Challenge Trophy

The challenge trophy will be awarded to the Best Team that participate in the following games :
i) Street Soccer
ii) Basketball
iii) Darts
iv) Carom
v) Table-tennis

16. Points earned

The following points will be awarded to each game played:

Win - 4 points
Draw - 2 points
Lose - 0 point

17. Closing date

The closing date for registration is 24 May 2008 at 5.00pm. All registration forms must be
completed and submitted together with payment before the closing date. Registration Forms
without participating fees will not be accepted by the Organizer. An official receipt will be issued
upon receipt of payment.

19. Waiver

By completing and submitting the Registration Forms, the Churches/Christian Organizations are
deemed to agree to the following:
a) Certify that all the above particulars in the registration form are correct.
b) That participants agree to abide to the rules and regulations of the sports.
c) That participants are entering the sports at their own risk and shall not hold the YMCA of
Kuala Lumpur and its organizers and sponsors responsible for any accident/injury/death,
however caused either before, during or after the event.
d) Each team shall be responsible for the safe-keeping of their team’s attire and other
belongings of their team members during the sports.

20. Draw

All Captains or Team Manager of the Churches/Christian Organizations who have registered for
the above games are requested to attend a briefing and draw which will be conducted on
Saturday, 31 May 2008 at 3.00 pm at the YMCA.

21. General

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend the above mentioned rules and
regulations and to decide on any matters not mentioned above. The decision of this Committee
shall be final and binding.

All technicalities pertaining to the games that may arise at the tournament should be referred to
the Technical Committee.

22. Refund

There will be no refund on the fees paid for the games.
