Scene 2
Joy: That was awesome Kids! I really enjoyed watching Izzy sing this year. She has
really been trying her best to learn all the songs for our upcoming KidCity event.
Izzy: My name is Izaiah. But they call me Izzy.

Peace: Oooo! That is lovely. Isaiah is a prophet in the Old Testament. He is very
important man in the Christmas Story. In fact, all the prophets are important. Isnt
that so, Pastor?
Pastor: (Reads from the Bible) Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign:
Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel
(Isaiah 7:14). For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the
government shall be upon his shoulders: and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the
increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of
David, and upon his kingdom to order it, and to establish it with judgment and
with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will
perform this (Isaiah 9:6, 7).
Abby: Thats sure a lot of names. My mom says, Abby, and I know she means JUST
me.
Pastor: Abby, I see how those seems like a lot of names to you. What the Bible is
saying, is that Jesus is ALL those things to us when we belong to Him. He is
wonderful to us. He is our counselor when we dont understand what to do. He is
our Father to whom we pray. He is mighty (Make muscle with arms). That means
he is strong.
Abby: Like you, Pastor?
Pastor Tim: WellI work at it, but God is strong when we are weak. Thats tough
to understand, isnt it, Hashtags? Prophecy is an important part of the Christmas
story. These prophets were called by God to speak of Him and to be His
messengers.
CHOIR: Its Still the Same Story
The prophets told the story of a Savior who would come
Into a world of darkness and be the Promised One
They said Hed be exalted a King for all mankind
When you look back in the pages you will find
Its still the same story, God sent His Son to earth
A Baby in a manger, Lord at His birth
Its a season to remember the Gift from God to man

So tell it and we tell it

And we tell it once again
Can you just imagine the way it must have been
The angels telling shepherds to go to Bethlehem?
The Promise of the prophets was wrapped in swaddling clothes
And on and on and on the story goes
Its still the same story, God sent His Son to earth
A Baby in a manger, Lord at His birth
Its a season to remember the Gift from God to man
So tell it and we tell it
And we tell it once again
Its still the same story, God sent His Son to earth
A Baby in a manger, Lord at His birth
Its a season to remember the Gift from God to man
So tell it and we tell it
And we tell it once again
So tell it and we tell it
Lets go tell it once again
Scene 3
Love: The Prophets from the Old testament got is right! Did you know that there
are many more prophets? Some prophets are called Major Prophets and some
are called Minor Prophets. Isaiah was a Major Prophet.
Joy: Whats the difference in Major or Minor? It sounds one is not very important.
Hump! This in getting too complicated. How are these kids suppose to understand
the difference. They dont even know who the prophets are, much less what a
prophet does.
Peace: Isaiah, along with Jeramiah, Lamentations, Daniel and Ezekiel, are the
Major Prophets. The Minor Prophets are Hosea, Joel, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah,
Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.

Joy: Wow! That a mouthful! How many books are in that Bible, Pastor? I couldnt
even remember my spelling words in 5th grade much less all those Prophet
names. How will they ever learn them? It is beyond me!
Pastor Tim: A prophet is someone who speaks Gods Truth to others. They have
spiritual insight to know what God wants. A true prophet will never contradict
what God says.
Levi: What are those names again?
Lucy: Those are BIG, BIG names.
Zailey: Woh, oh, Who, oh
Sammy: Were never gonna get it!
CHOIR: How Do You Say Habakkuk
Woh, oh, Woh, Oh, Were never gonna get it
Its just so complicated. Memorizing Prophets name is really overrated
Who wouldve called their kid Nahum?
Surely thats not the name the parents gave him!
Woh, oh Woh, oh,
We got Zechariah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Malachi,
Obadiah, Amos, Glad I wasnt that guy!
Zephaniah, Haggai, Micha, and Joel
Theres still one thing we all gotta know
How do you say Habakkuk? Woh, Oh, Woh, Oh, Woh
Were never gonna get it
Its just so complicated. Memorizing Prophets name is really overrated
Who wouldve called their kid Nahum?
Surely thats not the name the parents gave him!
Woh, oh, Woh oh,
We got Zechariah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Malachi,

Obadiah, Amos, Glad I wasnt that guy!

Zephaniah, Haggai, Micha, and Joel
Theres still one thing we all gotta know
How do you say Habakkuk? Dont forget Jonah
Dont forget Hosea, Dont forget Daniel, Dont forget Isaiah,
Woh, Oh, Woh, Oh
We got Zechariah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Malachi,
Obadiah, Amos, Glad I wasnt that guy!
Zephaniah, Haggai, Micha, and Joel
Theres still one thing we all gotta know
Woh, Oh, Woh, Oh
Scene 4
Lily Isnt this supposed to be a Christmas Celebration Party? Why are we talking
about Prophets?
Abby: Pastor Tim said the Prophets were important.
Lizzy All this Major and Minor stuff is confusing.
Abby: I understand that the Major Prophets are longer books.
Lily: Are we still on the same subject again! Major, Minor, Major, Minor, Why
dont we focus on Jesus, Gods Son and why He came to earth.
CHOIR: Dont Major on the Minor with Angels We Have Heard On High
Dont major on the minors, dont lose track of the big, big story.
All we need to focus on is how the Fathers only Son
Came down to show His glory.
Dont major on the minors; dont lose sight of the Gift He gave us
A Baby wrapped in swaddling clothes sent for all of us to know
He loved enough to save us.

Christmas is more than just presents and paper,

More than the lights on the tree
Unto us is born a Savior and thats the reason we sing
Donts major on the minors little things that keep you from seeing just how much
He cares for you
Nothing that He wouldnt do if you will just believe Him
Christmas is more than just presents and paper
More than lights on the tree
Unto us is born a Savior, and thats the reason we sing

ri-a in excelsis deo! Glori-a

Glo

Christmas is more than just presents and paper more than the lights on the tree
Unto us is born a Savior and thats the reason we sing
Dont major on the minors. YEAH!
Scene 5
Joy: Well, at least we got through those Prophets! I think just focusing on Gods
redemption plan is good enough! Do you remember any of those long names?
Peace: I think I can remember a few of them. We must remember that God used
those Prophets to tell the story of His redemption.
Love: What a sacrifice! What love! Just to think that Jesus came to earth to set us
free.
Joy: Free? I could use some freedom. I go to work every day and night, babysit
kids on the weekend, teach kids craft on Sunday, bake for church dinners, get the
mail, clean the house, dust the furniture. Opps! I forgot to do that last month.

Well, I did clean the garage.just spilled a gallon can of oil all over my husbands
(boyfriends or dads) new hunting coat. Free? Whats that!
Peace: I think Pastor Tim can tell us about Gods FREE redemption plan through
the Birth of Jesus, His Son.
Pastor Tim: (Reading from Bible) The time came for the baby (Jesus) to be born,
and she (Mary) gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and
placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. And
there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their
flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord
shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, Do not
be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today
in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a
manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the
angel, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth
peace to those on whom his favor rests (Luke 2:6-14 NIV). Jesus came for the
purpose to redeem all people from their sins and give us freedom in Him. He
wants to break off those heavy chains that we wear and change our live making
us new creatures in Christ.
Lily: That story reminds me of these paper chains we are making. (Displays paper
chains of red and green)
Abby: Jesus loved us so much that He came to earth to set us free.
Lizzy: Where is that in the Bible?
Abby: Thats the Christmas story!
Lily: Its in the New Testament in Luke Chapter 2.
Sammy: The time for Baby Jesus to be born.

Iva: Mary wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger.
Poppy: The angels told the Shepherds of His birth.
Oliver: Fear not, for I bring you GOOD NEWS!
Levi: Jesus came to set us free!
CHOIR: Redeemed with O Come All Ye Faithful
I am redeemed, You set me free.
So Ill shake off these heavy chains and wipe away every stain
Cause Im not what I used to be, I am redeemed
All my life I have been called unworthy, named by voice of my regret
But when I hear You whisper, child lift up your head
I remember O God Youre not done with me yet
You set me free, So Ill shake off these heavy chains and wipe away every stain
cause Im not who I used to be
O come let us adore Him, O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord
For He alone is worthy, for He alone is worthy
For He alone is worthy, Christ the Lord
I am redeemed, you set me free
So Ill shake off these heavy chains and wipe away every stain
Cause Im not who I used to be

No Im not who I used to be, no Im not who I used to be

I am redeemed!

songs have been so uplifting and the kids did a great job. This celebration city has
been awesome this year. Im looking forward to seeing all the parents as the kids
return with them later this evening.
Joy: Now how about that! We dont have to wait until Christmas to start
celebrating, we can start right now. Ive been shopping all year for presents, cause
I just love to give all those childrens church kids something to brighten their day.
Peace: Love came down at Christmas! What a beautiful sight. What a BIG DAY!
