What is GMAT?

explain
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT ) is a computer
adaptive test (CAT) intended to assess certain analytical, writing,
quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in
admission to a graduate management program. The GMAT doesn't
measure business knowledge or skill, nor does it measure
intelligence. GMAT assesses analytical writing and problem-solving
abilities, while also addressing data sufficiency, logic, and critical
reasoning skills that it believes to be vital to real-world business and
management success. The GMAT exam is administered in standardized
test centers in 112 countries around the world.

Format and timing

The GMAT exam consists of four sections: An analytical writing
assessment, integrated reasoning, the quantitative section, and the verbal
section. Total testing time is three and a half hours, but test takers should
plan for a total time of approximately four hours, with breaks as below.

examples)
MBA,

Master of Accountancy
Master of Finance

Q: What score student should have in GMAT?

Explain
The total GMAT score ranges from 200 to 800. Your Total score is based on
your Verbal and Quantitative scores; your Analytical Writing Assessment
and Integrated Reasoning scores do not affect the Total score.
Verbal and Quantitative scores range from 0 to 60; scores below 9 and
above 44 for the Verbal section and below 7 and above 50 for the
Quantitative section are rare.
Verbal and Quantitative scores are on a fixed scale and can be compared
across all GMAT test administrations, but because they measure different
constructs, they cannot be compared to each other.
If you do not finish in the allotted time, your scores will be calculated
based upon the number of questions answered as long as you worked on
each section. Your score will decrease significantly with each unanswered
question.
After previewing his/her unofficial GMAT score, a GMAT test taker has two
minutes to decide whether to keep or cancel the GMAT score. A cancelled
score can be retrieved within 60 days for a fee of $100. After 60 days a
cancelled score is not retrievable

Q: How to appear in GMAT and what formalities

require for GMAT Fee, centre details etc
Choose a Test Center
The GMAT is administered by the Graduate Management Admissions
Council (GMAC). In order to register for the GMAT, you must first
choose a test center. The GMAC maintains one test center list for the
United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. territories, and a
second list for all other international locations. Both lists can be
downloaded from the GMAC website, www.mba.com. GMAT test
centers in Pakistan are in Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad.
Schedule an Appointment
Once you have chosen the test center, the next step is to schedule an
appointment to take the test. Appointments for all other international

centers can be scheduled by phoning the appropriate regional

registration center. All of these phone numbers are listed on the test
center lists, downloadable at the GMAC website.
Payment
One may choose instead to register online via the website, or by mail.
Registration online or by phone requires a credit card (Visa,
MasterCard, or American Express) and payment of the testing fee (U.S.
$250) at the time of registration.
