FIRST DAY: Read the notes with Scripture references.

1. What truth about God did you receive from the lecture, and how might this apply to your current circumstances?

2. What help did you receive from the notes?

SECOND DAY: Read Deuteronomy 1-3.

3. What was the historical setting for Deuteronomy? (See Deuteronomy 1:1-5.)
4. When Moses spoke of Israels history, what did he want the people to remember:
About themselves?
About himself?
About God?

THIRD DAY: Read Deuteronomy 4-11.

5. From Deuteronomy 4:15-40:


a. What do you learn about God from this passage?
b. What special privileges did God give Israel and why?
c. Name special privileges God has given you.
6. According to chapter 6:
a. What is the one condition for true prosperity and success?
b. How were the Israelites to teach children to obey God, and how will you apply this in your family or with
others for whom you are responsible?

7. From chapters 8-9, what do you want to remember about Gods grace and holiness?
8. What does the Lord require of His people according to Deuteronomy 10:12-13?

FOURTH DAY: Read Deuteronomy 12-16.

9. From Deuteronomy 12:


a. What were the Israelites to do to places where people worshipped false gods?
b. Why did God authorize only one place to worship Him? (See also Exodus 25:8-9; John 2:19-21.)
c. How should Gods commands about worship serve as a warning for people in your church or community?

10. From chapter 13:


What three sources of temptation to idolatry were the Israelites to avoid, and how do these same sources of temptation trouble you?

FIFTH DAY: Read Deuteronomy 17-26.

11. a. From Deuteronomy 17:14-20, describe the kind of king the Israelites should choose if they decided to be like

the nations around them.
b. Which king in Israels later history did exactly what Moses warned kings not to do? (See 1 Kings 11.)

12. From Deuteronomy 18:


a. List the detestable practices in verses 9-13. Are there any of these you must confess or ask God to strengthen

you to give up?
b. Who was the prophet who would be like Moses? (See John 1:45; 5:46; 12:49-50; Acts 3:2223.)
c. How can you know if a prophet is not from the Lord?
13. From Deuteronomy 26:
a. Why were the Israelites to give some of the very first fruit grown in the new land to the Lord?

b. What attitude were the Israelites to have toward giving tithes and offerings to God? Give verse.

c. What change will you ask God to make in your attitude or ability to give to His work?

SIXTH DAY: Review Deuteronomy 1-26.

14. What have you learned about God in this weeks study? How may your group pray for you as you make this truth
a part of your life?
