The following hotels are located on the Left Bank in the 5th, 6th, and 7th arrondissements.
(Most Paris seminar activities will be in the 5th and 7th arrondissements, with a walking
tour across the Seine to the Marais district in the 4th arrondissement.) All hotels are
within walking distance or a short metro ride (either direct or with one changeincluded
in the ticket price) to the Sorbonne, Cluny, Pantheon, etc. This list is in no way a
recommendation; it is merely to help you find accommodations, especially if youre not
familiar with the city. Prices listed are in euros for 2005 and represent lowest single
room price and highest double room price. The country code for calling France is 33.
Breakfast is available at all of the above for about 8 to 12 euros. For more options Id
suggest checking Michelins Paris 2005 (or, if available, 2006) guide to hotels and
restaurants. Id also suggest that you firm up accommodations earlier rather than later,
since late June is the height of the tourist season in France. Also, if you are not familiar
with Paris, pick up Streetwise Paris, a handy foldout map and metro guide available in
the travel section of most bookstores for $7.95.
