President
Duties
Lead QACC and the Management Committee by providing a vision and strategic direction
Develop and update a strategic plan and set annual priorities for QACC in a business plan
Ensure the Management Committee delivers on its annual priorities and evaluates the performance of
QACC in achieving its mission
Develop and maintain QACC's effective relationships with funders, donors, partners, stakeholders and
the community
Be the spokesperson for QACC and represent QACC at significant community events
Ensure accountability for QACC, including managing QACC and the Management Committee according
to relevant laws and regulations, and QACCs constitution
Attend and chair committee meetings through the agenda, keeping discussions relevant, decisionmaking
clear and encouraging broad participation
Make sure regular committee meetings are held in accordance with the requirements of the QACC
constitution
Sign documents, contracts and agreements on behalf of QACC
Register an amendment, repeal or addition to the constitution
Act as an exoffico member to subcommittees of the Management Committee
Role requirements
Current QACC financial member
High level and proven leadership and management skills
Full knowledge and understanding of the QACC constitution
Excellent knowledge of QACC, its strategic direction, functions and activities
High level interpersonal and negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with a range of people
Eligibility
This position is the head of the QACC Management Committee and the position holder must be elected
annually at the annual general meeting. See the QACC election policy document for information on eligibility
for nomination and election to this position.
Vice President
Duties
Assist the President, and perform the duties of the President in his or her absence
Undertake on a day to day basis a set of the President's duties that has been delegated by the President.
Coordinate the QACC Advisory Board and Assembly of African Community Leaders
Lead community consultations, submissions on government and stakeholder policy documents and
projects
Represent the President at functions and events when requested

Act as an exoffico member to subcommittees of the Management Committee

Secretary
Duties
Is familiar with QACCs constitution and undertake tasks outlined for the Secretary in the constitution
Prepare agendas and accurate minutes and distributes to Management Committee members on a
timely basis
Maintain a file of all signed, original copies of meeting minutes
Keep and maintain all QACC records according to best practice
Write any letters or correspondence as directed by the Management Committee
Manage QACCs incoming correspondence and their timely response, including managing email
accounts and post office box
Answer the QACC mobile number including responding to enquiries
Organise the Annual General Meeting and Management Committee election process
Act as an exoffico member to subcommittees of the Management Committee
Keep secure and manage QACCs common seal
Cosign QACC cheques when required

Vice-Secretary
Duties
Is familiar with QACCs constitution and undertake tasks outlined for the Secretary in the constitution
Prepare agendas and accurate minutes and distributes to Management Committee members on a timely
basis
Maintain a file of all signed, original copies of meeting minutes
Support the Secretary and keep and maintain all QACC records according to best practice
Write any letters or correspondence as directed by the Management Committee
Manage QACCs incoming correspondence and their timely response, including managing email accounts
and post office box if the Secretary is not available
Answer the QACC mobile number including responding to enquiries
Organise the Annual General Meeting and Management Committee election process
Act as a secretary an exoffico member to subcommittees of the Management Committee

Treasurer
Duties
Ensure QACC finances are managed appropriately according to current laws and regulations and to best
practice standards

Ensure true and accurate financial records are kept and maintained
Manage QACCs bank accounts
Ensure receipts are written for all money received and that money is banked promptly and appropriately
Ensure all cheques are signed in accordance with the constitution
Keep the Management Committee regularly informed (monthly) of QACCs financial position
Prepare forward budgeting statements six months into the future to ensure QACC is aware of the required
funds to achieve its priorities and deliver its activities and support its liabilities
Ensure the financial records are ready for the annual audit, prepare a draft financial statement for audit and
presentation at the annual general meeting.
Cosign QACC cheques when required
