UPPER DUBLIN HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES CODE OF CONDUCT

The School District of Upper Dublin takes pride in activities and values the physical health and well-being of its students. All
participants in activities represent their school and community. They must have a clear understanding that participation in
activities is an opportunity with added responsibility. The goal of the School District of Upper Dublin is to have all participants
in activities succeed while maintaining acceptable educational and behavior standards.
General Rules
I agree to follow the guidelines for student conduct as outlined in the Cardinal Guide, and accept the responsibilities set
forth, therein. Further, I agree to become familiar with and adhere to student requirements and responsibilities as set forth by
my advisors. I understand that a violation of any of these rules subjects me to discipline, which may include suspension from
that activity for the balance of the school year or future years.
Drug and Alcohol Rules
During the course of my participation in the high school activity program, the use, abuse, possession, and distribution of
alcohol and drugs (including non-prescription steroids), whether on or off school property, is strictly prohibited. In addition to
any penalties under the General Rules set forth above, I understand that a violation of the Drug and Alcohol rules subjects me
to discipline, as described below.
First Offense
I understand that the first violation of these Drug and Alcohol Rules will result in suspension from all the following
which apply: 1. dismissal for 14 calendar days from Marching Band, Indoor Guard, Indoor Drumline, School Musical
or Drama Production, Student Government Association and recommendation for dismissal from National Honor
Society.
2. removal from my position as an officer with respect to any activity for 14 calendar days.
I, along with a parent/guardian, will also be required to meet with the Upper Dublin High School Behavioral Health
Coordinator. A drug and alcohol assessment may be required based on the outcome of that meeting.
Second Offense
I understand that the second violation of these Drug and Alcohol Rules during my high school career will result in my
1. dismissal for the rest of school year from Marching Band, Indoor Guard, Indoor Drumline, School Musical or
Drama Production and Student Government Association.
2. removal from my position as an officer with respect to any activity for the rest of the school year.
I, along with a parent/guardian, will also be required to meet with the Upper Dublin High School Behavioral Health
Coordinator. In addition, a mandatory Drug and Alcohol Assessment is required. I will not be eligible to receive a
letter, post-season award(s) or recognition, and this club participation for that year will not be reflected on my
transcript.
Criminal Offenses
In addition to school rules, I understand that as a student club member, I am expected to follow all state and federal laws as
well. I understand that if I am criminally charged with any offense serious enough to warrant classification as a felony or
misdemeanor if committed by an adult, I may be prohibited from participating in interscholastic activities pending a
determination that I did not commit the offense for which I was charged.
