GCSO LAW ENFORCEMENT SUMMARY


NOVEMBER 23, 2015 NOVEMBER 29, 2015

On Monday, November 23rd, the Gulf County Sheriffs Office received a complaint in reference
to a criminal mischief complaint to road construction equipment on Jarrott Daniels Road.
Deputy G. Desrosier responded to investigate the complaint. Two excavators were damaged
during the offense. The suspect(s) used one of the excavators and intentionally damaged the
roadway, which created a traffic hazard. Investigator L. Greenwood continues to investigate the
case.
On November 23rd, Sgt. J. Murnan arrested Joshua G. Brown (20) on an active warrant for
Battery. He was taken into custody in the 400 block of Ling Street in Highland View. The case
was originally investigated by the Port St. Joe Police Department who sought the warrant.
Brown was transported to the Gulf County Detention Facility (GCDF).
On Thursday, November 26th, the GCSO received a 911 call regarding a domestic disturbance in
the 400 block of Cox Landing Road in Wewahitchka. Deputy M. Peek responded to the
complaint. At the conclusion of his investigation, Deputy Peek arrested Cory A. Emberton (26)
for Battery (Domestic). He was transported to the GCDF.
On Saturday, November 28th, Deputy G. Desrosier responded to the 1000 block of Cape San Blas
Road in reference to a residential alarm. Once he arrived the alarm system was still sounding
and he observed Kenneth N. Rogers (45), personally known to Deputy Desrosier, inside the
residence. Deputy M. Layfield backed up Deputy Desrosier and assisted in the arrest of Rogers.
Rogers was taken into custody and charged with Burglary while Armed and Criminal Mischief.
He was transported to the GCDF.
On November 28th, the GCSO received a 911 call regarding a traffic accident in the 4300 block of
SR 71 North in Wewahitchka. Deputy S. Cook and Deputy J. Hanson arrived on scene and
determined the driver of the vehicle, Donna M. Caronia (48), was under the influence. The
Florida Highway Patrol was contacted to investigate the crash. Their investigation resulted in
the arrest of Caronia for Driving Under the Influence with Property Damage and Refusal to
Submit to a Breath Test.

On November 28th, Deputy M. Layfield responded to the 9100 block of Wentletrap Street in
Beacon Hill regarding a domestic disturbance. At the conclusion of his investigation, Deputy
Layfield arrested James P. Griffin (46) for Battery (Domestic). Griffin was transported to the
GCDF.
On Sunday, November 29th, the GCSO received a 911 call regarding a domestic disturbance in
the 1100 block of Vann Drive in Dalkeith. Deputy S. Cook and Deputy J. Hanson responded to
investigate the complaint. The investigation resulted in the charge of Felony Battery (Domestic)
being filed on Byron B. Butler (34). Butler was arrested on the case later the same day. He was
transported to the GCDF.
On November 29th, Sgt. J. Murnan arrested John T. Nelson (45) after he turned himself in at the
GCSO on an active warrant for Violation of Probation. Nelson is on probation for Possession of a
Controlled Substance and Possession of Listed Chemicals. He was turned over to the GCDF staff.
On November 29th, the GCSO received a 911 call from the 1300 block of East River Road in
Wewahitchka in reference to a domestic disturbance. Deputy J. Hanson responded to the call.
The investigation into the matter concluded with the arrest of Ray E. Stripling, Jr. (43). Stripling
was charged with Battery (Domestic), Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting a Law Enforcement
Officer without Violence. He was transported to the GCDF.
On November 29th, Deputy J. Hanson arrested Harold C. Lester (43) in the 300 block of County
Road 381 in Dalkeith. Lester was wanted for Violation of Probation on his original charges of
Violation of a Domestic Violence Injunction and Domestic Battery. He was transported to the
GCDF.
