standardize service delivery through CSC network

Financial Inclusion

BANKING THROUGH CSCs


CSCs are ideally positioned to strengthen Indias banking scenario, by extending the
business correspondent network. The status so far in FI through CSC is as under:
1. Agreements to conduct BC work have been signed with all 26 PSU Banks. Other than
that, five private Banks, one cooperative Bank from Jharkhand and six Regional Rural
Banks too have signed agreements with SPV.
2. At present, over 24,000 CSCs across India are delivering banking services by acting as
Business Correspondents of various PSU Banks.
3. CSC SPV has also recently launched e-KYC based services in partnership with Punjab
National Bank and UCO Bank. Till Nov 18, 2014, over 1.65 lakh eKYC transactions have
been recorded through CSCs.
4. SBI has admitted that CSCs are the most viable model to expand BC Operations. DFS in
a meeting held in October, 2014 has directed all CSC to operate as BCs in order to
deliver banking services.

INSURANCE SERVICES

Insurance sales and service was launched on the e-KYC platform through the CSC network on
Aug 6, 2014 by Sh. T S Vijayan, Chairman, IRDA in Hyderabad.
Since the beginning of August 2014, more than 1420 VLEs have been licensed for the sale and
service of insurance products.
Till date Life Insurance Renewal Premium of approx. Rs. 48 Crores has been transferred to
insurance Companies and LIC was the major stakeholder

PENSION SERVICES NPS Lite

CSC e Governance Services India Ltd. had launched Swavalamban scheme under National
Pension System (NPS-Lite) of Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority of India
(PFRDA) for subscription through the Common Service centers across the country.

Swavalamban Scheme through the Common Service centers will encourage the people from
unorganized sector to voluntarily save for their retirement. As per the scheme Government
of India will contribute Rs.1000 to each NPS account which is Swavalamban eligible
account. To be eligible for Swavalamban Scheme the person must be from the unorganized
sector and he / She has to put a minimum contribution of Rs. 1000 and a maximum
contribution of Rs. 12000 per annum during a financial year.

Milestones
PFRDA application launched on the CSC platform on 21st Nov 2013.
Close to 26,300 CSCs are delivering PFRDA services.
More than 1,00,000 plus rural subscribers have enrolled through CSC Centers.

PAN Card Service


PAN Card service is live on CSC India Online Portal. The UTI ITSL portal for
Pan Card Service and the CSC India Online portal has been integrated to
offer seamless delivery of PAN Card services to citizens through CSCs.
Presently only new applications of Pan requests are taken. A new Pan card
to rural citizens is made available at a cost of Rs 105/- through Common
Service Centers. Till date 96,726 pan cards have been successfully applied
through apna CSC portal.

One of the key objectives of the National IT Policy 2012 is to make at least one individual in
every household e-Literate. CSCs are taking initiative on this front through various Digital
Literacy projects. Some of the ongoing projects are:

Health Care Services

Over 4,500 CSCs are delivering health care services.
CSC SPV caters to the need for affordable health services for the low income
rural population. This is done by the use of the available robust IT
technologies and services available under Common Service Centres.
Services through CSCs include Telemedicine, Tele-ophthalmology, Telehomeopathy, Diagnostic services, Awareness building of the rural
population and more.
One of the prominent rural services in the area of health sector is providing
consultation through telemedicine services, whose ICT requirement is fully
mapped with the centres. Telemedicine makes it possible to connect health
specialists from one end of the world, to patients in the remotest corners anywhere and anytime. The CSCs are using telemedicine to provide expert
health services to millions of Indians in the remotest parts of the country.

Jeevan Praman Certificate

JEEVAN PRAMAN CERTIFICATE THROUGH CSC


This is the most recent service launched through CSCs across the
country. This is a computer generated electronic life certificate for
pensioner. Jeevan Pramaan Certificate is produced for individual
pensioner using the customers biometric credentials.
These digital Life certificates can be procured through various
Jeevan Pramaan Centres, or by using application on any
PC/mobile/tablet. So far, since the launch on Nov 10, 2014, more
than 150 Jeevan Pramaan Certificates have been issued.
