Grains of the Busted Knuckle Brewery

Busted Knuckle continued from front

he explained of sealing the lid on the can.

Its basically like a big, industrial-strength can
opener, only it does just the opposite by sealing the lid
on.
Once sealed, the beers life (carbonation) is good
for about a month before it begins to lose its pizzazz.
But theyll get drank long before that, Ben
laughed, we have the freshest canned beer in Glasgow!

Its been quite an investment the can sealer didnt
come cheap, then theres the cans and lids themselves
(and postage to get them here), and theres the labels,
plus a little extra labor.

But Ben feels good about another added attraction
to the Busted Knuckle, hoping for a little Christmas
rush.

Theyd make great stocking stuffers, he says.

Down the road, he predicts that can sales will heat
up as summertime does. Just imagine a mix-or-match Ben seals a Crowler, applies a label and out the
six pack or two of these 32 ouncers in the cooler on ice... door goes another satisfied customer.
ooh, thats nice.
Along with the Growlers and Crowlers and
souvenier glasses, the Busted Knuckle has also got a
nice line of quality apparel including hats (ladies too),
hoodies, t-shirts, jackets and such.

And theyve got gift certificates, so you might want
to pop in and do some easy Christmas shopping for that
hard-to-buy-for person who happens to enjoy a fine
brewski.
Located at 303 1st Avenue South, hours at the
Busted Knuckle Brewerey this week are today through
Friday from 4:00-8:00 and Saturday from 1:00 to 8:00.
Phone number is 228-2277.

Right now the Busted Knuckle has a variety of 10 beers

on tap, plus non-alcoholic homemade root beer. What
really surprised Ben is how many women absolutely
love his Black Nail Stout, a very dark beer. Coffee
drinkers really like this one even though there is no
coffee in it, he said. A couple more beers showing up
on the part-time list next week are the return of the Hot
Rod Jalapeo Amber and Fender Bender Blackberry
Amber. Ive still got a keg or two left of them, Ben
noted. So be sure to stop down and get a Crowler or
two before its gone.

Trophy buck taken unlawfully near Fort Peck

By Marc Kloker, FWP Region 6
Jordan Keys, 19, of Fort
Peck, was charged with violations
involving hunting from a public
highway, unlawful possession and
transportation of a game animal,
and using a rifle in a weaponsrestriction area. The driver of
the vehicle, Robert Greenfield,
46, of Chinook, Washington, was
charged with unlawful possession
and transportation of a game
animal.
On November 13, 2015,
Glasgow Game Warden Todd
Tryan received a call from Valley
County Sheriff s office dispatch
stating an eyewitness had just
observed an individual shoot
a white-tailed buck from the
road with a rifle in a weaponsrestriction area, below the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Administration building near the
town site of Ft. Peck. The deer
was loaded in a vehicle and field
dressed elsewhere.

With help from the Montana
Highway Patrol and the Valley
County Sheriff s office, authorities
were able to locate the vehicle and
conduct an investigation into the
unlawful killing of the buck.
There have been multiple
calls of concern regarding this
deer, as many people have
observed it around Fort Peck over
the years, Tryan said. This buck

qualified as a trophy deer.

Keys was ordered by Valley
County Justice of the Peace to
pay $505 in fines and $500 in
restitution. He lost his privileges
to hunt and trap for 24 months in
Montana and all 48 states that are
members of the Interstate wildlife
Violator Compact.
Greenfield was ordered to
pay $335 in fines. He also lost his
privileges to hunt for 24 months
in Montana and all 48 states that
are members of the Interstate
wildlife Violator Compact.

Warden Tryan wants to thank

the eye witness for calling in to

report the violation, as well as
the Valley County Sheriff s office
deputies Luke Strommen and
Alex Esteves for their assistance
in the investigation.
Anyone with information
about crimes involving fish,
wildlife or park regulations is
encouraged to call FWPs 24-hour
wildlife tip line at 1-800-TIPMONT (1-800-847-6668). Callers
can remain anonymous and may
be eligible for a reward up to
$1,000 for providing information
that leads to a conviction.
