I'd love for someone to explain how I'm supposed to simultaneously

hold to MM's poetic assertion that House is bad and Trump is good.
Seems like there's just a tiny disconnect there, doesn't it? Whatever
reasons you give me for rejecting House apply in spades to Trump.
I'm not defending or attacking either man here. I'm simply looking for
consistency.

Steve Dorman That's absolutely right. It's incredible to me that so many

long-time conservatives accept the sudden "I've seen the light"
conversion of a long-time liberal. Simply his support of the Supreme
Court's Kelo decision should be disqualifying...not to mention his
decades of other far-left positions. His insane ramblings about America
"losing" from free trade are also leftist nonsense.

Or it could be that Steve House limits his political support to

Republicans....he is the State GOP Chair after all. And it can be argues
that Trump's GOP bona fides are non-existent or at least questionable.
The man should run under the banner of The Carnival Barker Party.

Don't you think he's likely to be right? Not that it matters to Trump
supporters who seem under the influence of a mind-dulling drug. The
man is a charlatan, a blowhard, a liar, and an embarrassment. It's
incredible how many people who seem intelligent the rest of the time
are fooled by this man. I'm glad House isn't, though I do understand an
objection to the state party chair rendering an opinion among
candidates. That said, House may simply realize (as I do) that having
Trump as the GOP presidential candidate spells doom for Republicans
up and down the ticket, something a state party chair would rightly
worry about. But knowing many on these pages, if Trump were the
nominee and Republicans got slaughtered (politically, not literally)
across the country, including here in Colorado, you would blame House
for it. Well, when it comes to people that mindless and that unfair, it
makes sense that you'd also support Trump.

A CHRISTMAS VISIT FROM TRUMP

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the Party,
Not a creature was stirring, not even Miss Smarty.
The stockings were hung by the website with care,
In hopes that the donors soon would be there;
The candidates were nestled all snug in their beds;

While visions of landslides danced in their heads;

And Lynch in his pride and House in his booze,
Had just settled down for a long winters snooze.
When right on Fox News there arose such a clatter,
House sprang to his feet to see what was the matter.
Away to his TV House flew like a flash,
Him again! he said, Damn Trump being brash.
The words on the screen flashed by as he read,
Colorado well win, Trump reportedly said.
And what to his wondering eyes did appear,
But Donald Trumps jetHouses worst fear.
With its popular owner so lively and quick,
House knew in a moment hed soon feel sick.
Faster than eagles Trump's insults they came,
And he whistled and shouted and called House a name.
Now Carly, now Marco, now Ted and Lindsay.
On Jeb, on John, on Rand and Christie.
To the floor of the polls, you are destined to fall,
Now dash away, dash away, dash away all.
In words that would make a grown man cry,
Trump blasted House for his many a lie.
Just what are you trying to do in this state?
Your antics will soon seal our partys fate.
You cant run an election, and youve deepened the debt,
You said Id look bad, and on Carly youd bet.
You lied to the feds and the donors with glee,
And claimed they would flee if you let them see.
You cant read the bylaws, or follow the rules,
Youre making our candidates look like fools.
Trump was dressed in good taste from his head to his foot
His words, stated strongly, were all well put.
A bundle of cash he had flung on this back,
He looked like he might give gifts from that sack.
His eyeshow they twinkled! his dimples, how merry!
His steps were quick and not likely to tarry.
He was funny and quick, a right jolly old elf.
Miss Smarty laughed, in spite of herself.
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave her to know House had much to dread.
He spoke a few words and went straight to his work.
He filled candidates stockings, then turned to the jerk.

He gestured to House before he rose.
He sprang to his jet, to his crew gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But we heard him exclaim ere he flew out of sight,
Get House out of town, and well win this state right.
