ABOUT THE WASHINGTON STATE DEMOCRATS COORDINATED CAMPAIGN
The Washington State Democrats Coordinated Campaign strives to lead an innovative, data-driven voter
mobilization program through the implementation of a state-wide, direct voter contact effort which seeks
to augment traditional get-out-the-vote programming with creative, community-specific organizing
tactics, a comprehensive digital outreach regime, and a thoughtful power building approach rooted in a
philosophy of enduring strength through long-term grassroots capacity development. The Coordinated
Campaign will focus on the election of the Democratic nominee for President, as well as the re-election of
US Senator Patty Murray and Governor Jay Inslee, but will help guide candidate campaign activity up
and down the ballot.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Regional Field Directors (RFDs) are important managers on our Coordinated Campaign; RFDs are
expected to lead staff, build robust political networks and serve as liaisons to the community within their
region. Specifically, RFDs will:
Recruit, train and supervise Field Organizers
Organize at the grasstops level, building political leads and early Neighborhood Team
prospects
Ensure that our staff culture, standards and practices reflect Democratic values
Promote leadership at every level of the campaign, with an eye towards building sustainable and
permanent grassroots activism
Specifically, qualified candidates should have some combination of the following:
A minimum of one cycles experience in the field department of a competitive campaign, whether
issue or candidate based; multiple cycles highly desired
Expertise with VAN; familiarity with modern campaign tools and techniques
Prior management experience, a positive attitude, appreciation for creativity in the workplace
and the ability to problem solve with a positive attitude and a knack for positive encouragement
Comfort working in metrics and deadline driven environment
Strong interpersonal communication skills and a healthy sense of humor
A valid drivers license, reliable transportation and the ability to work evening and weekend
hours
